Bishop David Abioye sounded a powerful warning to the Christian community: sinners are coming to church, but not necessarily finding salvation. This troubling trend, he said, must be addressed urgently if the church is to fulfill its mission of leading people to Christ.

Bishop Abioye’s message is a call for the church to return to its roots, prioritizing the proclamation of the gospel and leading people to genuine conversion. "True salvation is not about being part of the crowd; it is about having a real encounter with God," he emphasized.

As Bishop Abioye underscored, the church is more than just a social gathering place; it is a place for spiritual transformation. And this transformation begins with a clear understanding of the gospel and its power to save. Without this, people may attend services but leave unchanged.

The bishop also called for a renewed focus on the importance of repentance. Churches must create an atmosphere that encourages people to confront their sins and seek forgiveness through Christ. "If we do not reach the hearts of sinners, we are failing in our duty as the body of Christ," he stated.

In his passionate plea, Bishop David Abioye challenges the church to re-examine its priorities and reclaim its mission to bring sinners to repentance and salvation. He urges churches to create an environment that leads to genuine encounters with God, not just a space for people to go through the motions. With this call to action, the bishop encourages Christians to be diligent in their faith, mindful of their responsibility to lead others to Christ, and committed to creating a culture of repentance and forgiveness within their communities.

He knew this, but couldn't say it.

Hmm...

Interesting that he had to first be retired from David Oyedepo's church to freely say this.

Looking more and more like a blessing in disguise.

I hope David Oyedepo is listening though because this sounds like an indirect message to him and the likes who were more interested in filling up their church buildings than the kingdom of God.

God bless.

Its worrying. The reason I always leave church still dissatisfied. We need to return back to the cross. Church programs don't change people only the undiluted gospel of the Lord Jesus
