Jonathan And Sambo To Spend N1b On Food Next Year President Goodluck Jonathan and his deputy, Namadi Sambo, are to spend approximately N1 billion on food in 2012 as proposed in the federal government’s budget presented to the National Assembly last week. The first and second citizens are to enjoy the total sum of N992.57 million worth of food and general catering services. This amount is just N7 million short of N1 billion. The amount is meant for the purchase of foodstuff, kitchen utensil and equipment for the two families and payment for catering services. This is coming on the heels of the president’s decision to remove fuel subsidy and his frequent call for fiscal discipline by those in government. He had announced plans to cut down on cost of running government while presenting the budget. Read more: http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/12/20/jonathan-sambo-to-spend-n1b-on-food-in-2012/ |

This is insane, God help me my Unborn kids wouldn't suffer this inhumane treatment we receive from the those in authority. Plus I think our prayer point for our country should be; God HELP and DELIVER Nigeria and not God Bless Nigeria. Nigeria is already blessed. |

Can someone clarify if using the word 'fatter' is an offensive word against the first lady. I cant imagine a nation in poverty and our leaders still deem it fit to eat 1.3m/day, na wao! While millions are dying of starvation everyday in an oil rich nation like ours, are this guys not rich enough to afford to buy food? |

Kx: Well, this is the clear signal we are receiving under GEJ and his 40 thieves (42 technically ). There is not even a single notable and patroitic sacrifice from Mr. President yet , again, Nigerians must "tighten their belt" . How can this be "fresh air" or "transformation"? David Cameron flew on commercial flights as leader of one the most prosperous nation on Earth. GEJ , instead, bought more private Planes , with the old ones still mechanically perfect, as leader of one of the poorest and most profligately run nation on Earth !!! Simple actions like that show the difference between those who deliberately prepare for leadership and those who inherit it accidentally because some wicked individuals (OBJ, Anenih, Haliru Bello et al) want the continuation of "business as usual ". |

Food subsidy for the leaders remains, oil subsidy for the masses cancelled. Bloody selfish pigs! I hope they choke on that food, and have their sleep tormented by the cries of millions of Nigerian children who go to bed on empty stomachs. |
