Defence Headquarters Debunks Claims Of French Military Base In Maiduguri by RealGandalf: 4:01pm On Dec 17
The Defence Headquarters has dismissed online reports alleging the arrival of French soldiers in Maiduguri to establish a military base in North East Nigeria, labeling the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement, the Armed Forces of Nigeria emphasized that the reports are entirely baseless and described them as the work of mischief-makers.

Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa CFR, has previously addressed and debunked these claims during media engagements. The statement reiterated his position, urging the public to disregard the rumors still circulating in some quarters.

“These are the antics of mischief-makers,” the statement read, affirming that the military remains committed to fulfilling its constitutional duties professionally while safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

The Defence Headquarters reassured citizens of its dedication to maintaining national security and called on the public to rely only on verified information to avoid unnecessary panic or misinformation
