I have a friend who has been going with a lady for 5yrs now. He discovered 2yrs ago that the girl's blood genotype is AS and his genotype is also AS. He is educated and knows the implications of this. But he wants to forge ahead cos he said the girl has tried for him and the girl has once threatend to kill herself if he leaves her. Now he is talking of having a secret second wife who he will marry cos he has found a more compatible lady. Must he marry the first lady out of pity as is the case now?

If the girl is literate and wise, she would understand that at this point, parting amicably is their best bet.

This is a dicey situation & from the way your friend wants to handle it, he's gonna end up regretting it. @ poster, you have to advice your friend very well. This is definitely not the time for him to be talking about a secret second wife who he will marry, instead he should concentrate on getting his gf to see reasons why they need to break-up. The truth is that they are not compatible medically unless they don't plan on having children. Otherwise, he had better put sentiment aside at this point & do the right thing.

ask these simple question to your friend:
- what is the reason he decided to "forge ahead"? is it because she threatened to kill herself (aka pity)? is it because of love?
- if he was happily in a r/ship, how could he have met this other "more compatible" lady?
- if he decides to marry the first one then he has no need for the second one. if he really needs the compatible one then he should "drop" the first one.

Nice one chaircover. He believes he loves the first girl enough to risk the medical implications while the second gf loves him enough to be a second wife. As at now the second girl is AA and more stylish than the first. She is in Canada. Now he thinks marrying the two of them is his solution to making gf number one happy and he having healthy children. Just too ridiculous i agree.
