It's shocking how this tragedy is yet to attract the right attention. Is this not enough to ban all public gatherings of more than 500 without due and comprehensive approval by the government? Oh, I forgot this wasn't a protest. 100 people can die due to hunger and nobody will shake. Organise a small protest against these ronu criminals and their condemned children (fanboys and banger boys) of perdition and watch them defecate publicly.

Again even in layman's term you have sworn never to use your brains. Hypocrites.

Worse still you are one of those apc things.
The only mistake that woman made is underestimating the level of shege timubu is showing nigerians. Because this is not her first year of organizing such events

Zionmdde:

1. This is not the first time the lady is organizing such event in that same state. So was it that there was a population explosion or poverty explosion? Imagine organizing an event this year with 1000 people in attendance. If you want to organize the same event next year, will you use a stadium?

2. House to house sharing of food. So they will carry trailers of freebies and people will not attack them? Hia

3. At local government level? What made you think that those children traveled from different LGAs to the venue? Max. There would be 3LGAs. Now divide that crowd into 3 and tell me how big ur LGA sectetariat is

1. Yes, the poverty and hunger level in Nigeria today has tripled if not quadrupled since January. This is why stricter attention to safety would have prevented this.
This is a no brainer!

2. House to house sharing with security would have succeeded without much issues. Worst case scenario, they would be thronged but definitely no stampede.

3. At LGA level, the crowd would be easier to manage... the council heads can strategize sharing even at the level of communities.

I am not talking fiction... I have helped organise such outreaches and programs, even on such large scales without such issues.

Planning is everything.

1. Her only crime was underestimating tinubu's shege
2. You seem to trust security too much, people that will release bullets when agberos and urchins start attacking the vehicles conveying the gifts
3. Council heads and LGA staffs? That will embezzle 80% of the gifts?

I have been involved in a lot of CSR and trust me you 2 and 3 will never work except in asokoro or Lagos Island

Why host it at Islamic school? Anything Islamic doesn't end well. It's always one of Terrorism, killing, arson, hatred or even a combination of two or all evil factors. No peace at all

How daft to ask AI such?

So you don't know how to use AI profitably?

You must be an idle fellow!

What is basic knowledge on the streets of Nigeria is what you are asking AI.

If they ask you where AI gets it's information from, you don't know.

Why don't you ask AI if Buhari is an intelligent fellow?

It is so sad. Many organisation's overlook the importance of risk analysis until disaster occur. I'm sure others would take a learning from this. All naija event planners worry about is rain and area boys as if no other unforseen contingency could occur. It is well fa.

Chai....my dear queen Naomi with the good heart. May God give her the fortitude to bear this loss and pacify the parents involved.

That's why I no dey do pass myself....children's under developed brains have no sense of danger at any point when food, toy or even play is dangled within their sight cry cry

In life sometimes your good intentions can still come back to haunt you, they couldn't have envisaged this because of the level of hunger in the land unfortunately they'll have to face the law for deaths.

An embarrassing shame that you're turning a sad incident like this into tribal jabs.

NG_Police need to invite you for questioning. Seems you will help them with little information you just told us.
I can also help NG_Police in tracking your browser host, frequency range, http and also provide them with your location. All I need is a Police and Court permit, mandating Seun to provide me with some details on his LSCV.

You will learn in a hard way...

Am so scared , who wud believe that my sophisticated brothers who were at the fore front of democracy good governance etc are the ones quick to threaten any opposing view with violence, arrest and harm , same things applicable in the so called aboki military rule ohhh , Nigerians donโ€™t be deceived anymore , it is power all man are after , power for themselves and their tribe , they are not interested in Nigeria
Re: When Good Intention Is Not Enough: Lessons From Ibadan Children Stampede by gofigurena: 10:34pm On Dec 19
Actually the organizers' only problem was that they underestimated the wonders tinubu is doing in the lives of Nigerians.

Real shot fired. You can say that again.

Zionmdde:
We all shouting "crucify them" for setting out to put smiles on the faces of some children

They announced their free gift event
Do we Blame them for the massive crowd they might never have envisaged?
But we don't Blame govt for the massive poverty
We don't blame parents for the negligence on their own part.

It has become very obvious that having good intentions in this country is scary and may land you jail terms.

Don't put this on Tinubu because it was the fault of the organisers. If people were invited under IBB or Gowon to come and receive gifts, they would have still come out.
The organisers let the crowd built up at the entrance, they were waiting for 8am to open the gate of the venue when thousands of people were already suffocating at the gate. People started arriving by 6am but stupid organisers wouldn't open the gate for the surging crowd on time. When they eventually did, it was stampede
Re: When Good Intention Is Not Enough: Lessons From Ibadan Children Stampede by babtoundey(m): 10:50pm On Dec 19
Fod forgive me, I don't see it as a good intention. Even though the action and program was good, the organizers proposed to use it a means if laundering their image and refine their perception in the eye of the majority.

What rational would make you organise a program without making plans and arrangements for the anticipated number of people and putting in place a definite means of controlling crowd.

We are not in animal kingdom; they actually need to be sanctioned. 30/20 casualties is a lot of people. But who will sanction them,Oyo state government? The same government that cannot conduct recruitment exams with decorum.
