We just have this loving God to thank for saving us o.
Long ago when we still had the Lagos Bar beach and I went for a good time
You know how we do it nah, playing at the bank of the sea while your legs are touching the ground. You float and all that and whenever the wave is coming,you either bend down forward for the wave to go past you if it's a bit big or you stand or throw yourself up a bit for the wave to bring you out.
But this time,there were other kids and young people playing and this big wave came...na so I bent down and dodged it by all of a sudden,I realised my feet were no longer touching the ground! The big wave kind of push me in on its way back!
I realised I had gone far too inside the back ..I didn't know the people around me were a bit far behind.
I saw myself struggling to find my footing while "going!"
As God would have it, another bigger wave came about and that one pushed me out,omoh,I jejely waka comot from water and went to sit down nearby thinking about what just happened.
Meanwhile the other people were still playing,they didn't know guy man almost waka o...😁

I jejely cleaned up and quietly left.

I was 5 or 6

After a heavy downpour, a refuse pit that was dug behind our house was full to the brim.
I came outside and met my cousins dipping sticks into the pit and forcing down refuse or frogs which would float back up.
Sounded like fun so I joined but with a short stick. As I tried to reach for a dip, " tuboom" I tumbled into the pit.
But God said it wasn't and still isn't my time yet. I was rushed out by an uncle and I had to throw up the worst smelly stuffs in my life and maggots running out my nose.

Was scared of learning how to peel coconut as a teenager. Though I wasn't a fan of coconut but seeing my friends do it made me want to learn.... If not for me.... At least for others.

Then one day..... ONE DAY....A friend of mine who's my age mate was about peeling one. My neighbors, age mates also, were there. I came out and was determined to learn. if my own age mates could do this with ease, why can't I?....

Na so my guy bend down and signalled me to pay attention.
Then ... It happened.
He went first, second and third strike. As he landed the fourth, to my horror, I saw half of my friend's thumb dangling from his hand.
Next, he exclaimed in Yoruba 'owo mi ti ge'(my hand has cut).

I gazed at his injury.... Eyes wide opened.... Just like everyone and then it dawned on me....

Heck! I don't even like coconut from day one. And here is someone who can even peel it suffering this kinda pain. Who am I to attempt this..... ever?

It was a terrible day for my friend but thankfully after some weeks of treatment, his thumb healed....

But for me, anything that resembled peeling coconut was a NO NO.....

So when I was in Year 3, this lecturer vowed that if I come late to his next class, I will carry over his course because I had been coming late and he had marked my face.

So I prepared very well to come early that day. I even fetched water and kept in case there was no light to pump water. When I woke up, I found out my roommate had used the water to flush in the night when I was sleeping and there was no water.

I tried my best to find water and rush to school before the time for the lecture.

Omo, my plan no dey work again. Before I could even find a bus sef, time for the class had almost reached. After I rushed to go and finally found a bus, in the bus going to the university park, I remembered how one guy that was late for his exam jumped out of the bus one day. Na so I jump my own come land for ground.

At first, I think say I succeed. The driver park come dey ask whether I craze. Other drivers too park come dey reason wetin dey work me.

I scattered my phone screen. Tore my fine clothes. Injured myself. I was limping to class. At the end of the day, the lecturer came late for the class. God damn.

Later I come dey reason what if I broke my head.

up till this day, I've been wondering how this was possible without having any damaging effect to my stomach or body.

Yes. I was around 4 or 5 yrs old at the time I swallowed a full bunch of keys. Nothing less than about 10 different keys in a bunch with a key holder.

Here's how it happened. I was lying down face upwards playing with the keys in my mouth when I accidentally gulped them; the whole damn keys. I was alone, so no one saw it happen. I was scared as he'll to tell my mom, she would have freaked the hell out and probably given me a whopping of my life (the main reason why I didn't tell her )

Later that evening she was looking for the keys and asked me if I saw them and I said no, knowing fully well they were being warmed up in my stomach . She finally assumed she had misplaced them.

Fast forward to when I became an adult, I would tell my friends and none would belive me. It was strange to me how nothing bad happened to me. I sha thank God

I have many stories like this and I should be dead many times a long time ago. And that's why I am not scared of death because even if I die now, I died late.

Let me give you just one

When I was a kid maybe about 7 years old, I was chasing grasshopper (this is in the village) and there was this foundation they just dug to build a house.

The grasshopper fell inside the foundation. So, I have to jump down the foundation, probably about 4 feet deep.

Unknown to me there was a broken bottle with its teeth facing right up. I jumped and landed one of my legs on the broken bottle. Initially I didn't feel any pain but within few seconds the pain came, then I tried to pull out the bottle and it refused to come out. I tried again and was able to pull it out. By then, blood was flowing like water. But that's just the best part.

Now, instead of going to our house to inform my mom, I began using green leaves to see whether I can treat myself. I was scared to go home because of fear that my mom would beat me.

I couldn't tell anyone.

It was after my mom noticed my walking steps in the evening that she asked me why I was walking that way. That's when I told her.

She then took me to a chemist store where I was given an injection. I think they called the medicine then TCP or something like that.

Children take dangerous risks that their parents are not aware of.

Ha, that was a very bad incident. You must have lost a lot of blood. Thank God, your mom saw through your deceit and took you to the chemist. Na God dey protect children o.

A very hefty guy who is my step mother's in-law paid our family a visit of a week plus.

One evening, we went to the Palm plantation to do broom. On the farm he beat my younger sister and I felt very bad.

This guy, Even if you combined my stature and strength 3times there was no way I could beat him but, I was bent on retaliating so I started devising my plan onwards.

On the road to the farm we went were remnants of the tough sticks of the leafs our goats had eaten.

When we started coming home from the farm, I took the back position, the guy was in-between me and my sister and other kids were in the front and my beloved sister was still weeping profusely.

Enroute home, I secretlyb plucked some canes, Stubborn grass (sida acuta) and shoved them in my pants at the line at my back.

As we don near home (when I knew that people would easily come to rescue me), I started lashing this Goliath strokes....when the canes I pluked broke away I speedily picked the remnant sticks from the goat feeds aahhh! these ones delivered my anger very well unto his back... immediately they sticks finished, that was when people knew and ran to separate us.

I dealt with him, he cried like my sister did!
My mom and sisters reprimanded me in the family eyes but they praised me and Called me champion in when they called me in!

There was a day we were burning up the bush so that we could catch some bush meat, and we managed to killed three big bush rat( okete in my language). Na so one squirrel just came out of nowhere and I went started pursuing it, na so the squirrel climb dead palm kernel tree, no more leafs on it, but there was a hole at the extreme top of it which the squirrel entered.

Na so I begin to climb, and I climbed to the very top( on top sey I wan kill squirrel). I checked but couldn't find it there, na so I started shaking the palm tree thinking that the squirrel will come out in fear. During the shaking, na so the tree broke from the middle, the upper part of the tree and I dey escort ourselves come down, but before it touched the I tried to jumped and detached myself from it. I landed with bruises all over my body and the tree that escort me was shattered on landing. That's how God saved me ooo.


Till today, I use to think about that incident.

I've had quite a couple of crazy experiences. One of them was when I threw my shoe at a wasp's nest. Boy, those wasps flew out and stung the living daylights out of my face. To add insult to injury, I got punished by my mother for "disturbing the neighbours" with my screaming.

While growing up, there was this bros that lived in a shop. One day, a banny came visiting and the bros locked the shop from inside. In no time, my friends and I concluded that they must be doing "daddy and mummy" inside. I can't remember who started it, but we started throwing stones at the shop's windows and door. After a while, the bros opened the door angrily and we all scampered for safety. I dashed across the road without looking; and gbosaaa!!! An okada (motorbike) "cleared" me off, lifting me high into the sky. I landed with a heavy thud and zoned out for a moment or two. I thought I had died, but obviously, God still had some purpose for me in this life.

As for the wicked bros, I'm sure he went back into his shop and continued his "daddy and mummy" game with that auntie. Wicked Man

I was about 10 years old or So and one day when my mom was away with just me and my junior brother at home. I told him I could hold the blade and prevent it from turning when turned on. He said I couldn't and it turned into a challenge. I held the blade handle and told him to turn the blender on. He foolishly obliged me and the result were 3 chopped fingers swirling inside the blender before my eyes with blood pumping out of my fingers. I screamed and my brother quickly turned off and ran away in horror when he saw the results of our foolish actions. I was just staring at my chopped fingers pumping blood freely and my 3 fingers inside the blender. Luckily my mom came back just in time to witness the horror and rush me to our family hospital with my chopped fingers which they were able to stitch together after a 3 hours surgery or so. 2 of the fingers are very okay but I can't fully bend one. Looking back, I can only laugh at now young and foolish we were..

Kids love playing rough play and we thank God that as kids we didn't sustain serious injuries like some kids who sustained.

A friend of mine was telling me of his friend who sustained serious neck injuries as a kid when he wanted to throw acrobatic.
He said till today the guy now as adult can't move his neck freely.

As a kid there was a day I was playing with two of my friends and the ball we were playing with got stuck in the ceiling.

I was like there will be many balls in that ceiling and if I can climb into the ceiling, I will be able to get alot of footballs to play with that got stuck at the ceiling from other people.

That is how I climbed the ceiling and was throwing all balls down and the first two rooms in the roof I passed the ceiling were made of plywood until I got to the third room which was my grandmother's room which was made of asbestos, and I fell into the room .
I had to climb back as it was a Sunday.
When my grand mum came back she shouted that thieves have broken into the house but those my two friends told her that it was me that did it.

Till today I still ask what if I was electrocuted in the ceiling?

It's just God that saved most of us when we were kids.

Got shocked touching the crt tube of a television while trying to fix it

One was when I was riding my friend ls bicycle without break, omo as I dey speed reach where I suppose turn enter na so I carry leg dey press the back tire with the bottom of my slippers with my two legs, but because my mind was hell-bent on stoping this bike the bike head turn and bam I land for middle of road only for me to hear "eheee". The bike man behind me was able to doge my head as I landed. Omo na so I my body cold like Ice as I realize say I just almost die. Na push i push the bicycle reach house las las.

I remember when electric cooker shock me too. Omo the indome I bin dey cook almost done na him I rush enter kitchen forget wear shoe. As I just touch the pot cover, everywhere turn white. Na mama rush enter kitchen ask me wetin happen. I no even know say I shout.

And you never passed it out with excruciating pain ? I would say you eat something but not the keys. The acid in your tummy couldn’t have been strong enough to dissolve the keys and they must come out somehow !
