GREEN CIRCUIT ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL (GCAI) PAYS FAMILIARIZATION VISIT TO DPO (IGANDO POLICE DIVISION) :

The Green Circuit Association International (GCAI) visited the Divisional police officer (DPO) of Igando Division today, the 21st Day of December, 2024. The visit was to welcome the new DPO to the Division, familiarize with the police and donate a generator and a water tank set as part of their social responsibility and contributions to the society.

The DPO, while receiving the donated items, appreciated the group and said that the police is a friend of the people and the doors are wide open for any suggestions, information and contribution that will make the police to serve the people better. He said that, together we can build a better society as there is no other police but our police and no other citizens but our citizens, He reiterated the resolve of the police commitment in combating crime and ensuring a safe, secured and peaceful society especially this yuletide.

The president of the Association, Mr Martins Oboh gave an overview of the association that, the group has been existing for relatively long time and the primary responsibility of the association as a charitable and non-governmental organization (NGO) is to contribute in their own way to the society. He said, this group known as GCAI has branches/chapters all over Nigeria and abroad. Today, according to him is just part of what they do every year. That recently, in the chapter in island, a borehole was given to a community while some wheel chairs were also provided to people with disability. The president said, this initiative of visit and donations made to the police is an attestation to their support for the Nigeria police and their commitment in having a safe and peaceful Nigeria.

Other members of the executive body of the association who spoke with the media included; the vice president of the association, Mr Abraham Enemgbele, Mr Julius the VGN commandant in Alimosho, Mr Moses the immediate past president and Elder Freeman, all shed light on the roles the association played in nation building and being socially responsive to the community. It was clarified that the association is open to men of all ages that, there is no age restriction but exclusive to the men/male. He said this gesture is what they do and are known for and not just one off thing.

Mr Julius, who is responsible for the security Department urge the police to be open minded and provide the youth to be closer to them so as to create a good synergy where information can be freely disseminated.
In the same vein, Elder Freeman a member of the association also said, the association is made up of educated elites and open to graduates from all Nigerian universities. He stressed that the need for collaboration of the youth with the police cannot be overemphasized and cited how this Igando police station was burnt down during the endsars and some police officer killed. By supporting the police, of which the association have demonstrated today, will in no little measure strengthen this synergy. He added that the police is doing more but also, room is available for improvement.

The president of the association used this medium to call on the youth to be law abiding and support the police in its bid to protecting and safeguarding both lives and properties.
