It’s an imported tradition. But like many other cultures, traditions and religious practices, its roots trace back to mother land Africa.

The Nkem Ejagham root word AKAMARISHA (AKAMA-RE-NSHAR) produced the sound CH-R-S resulting in thre word CHRSIT and means “you shall be joyful and happy” or “you shall be saved.” The word “sha” in the Hebrew as well as in the Nkem Ejagham language translates as “to save” or “saved”.

The MAS is from MA-SHA meaning “I save” or “I am saved”.

Wishing you joy and happiness this season and always!.
