Smoking Cigarettes and being drunkards will lead to sins, and so are sins in embryo because they will never lead to anyone's spiritual edification.

Bible emphatically says something in Romans 14:19: The bible says, "So then, let us pursue what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

In 1CORINTHIANS 10:26, the bible says, "23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not."

Above all, let's remember we have been forewarned in 1Timothy 1: 14 which says, "Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do."

It is philosophical to start debating on whether Adam and Eve ate something in the garden of Eden or not.
What should be clearly noted in the biblical record is that the disobedient acts of the duo brought about the fall of man.
It should categorically noted that the bible is not built on philosophy but on spiritual truth. Now that philosophical pastors are gradually evading Christianity, heresies will not be far fetched.

Beware of strange doctrines in these last days. The Bible said the body is the temple of God and if anyone destroys it God will destroy that person. Is cigarettes not a destructive agent working against the body? Does it not slowly kill the body? Can the spirit of God dwell in such a body/person?
Heresies will abound in these last days. Soon he will teach that the devil never rebelled against God and God is at fault for chasing away the devil from heaven.

You took the first statement literally, and then when you get to the part that said, "And the eyes of them both were opened..." I am very sure you will give a non-literal meaning to it.

Wasn't their eyes already opened? Or was it a spiritual eyes? If the eyes were spiritual, why don't you think the fruit itself was never physical as well?

His own personal interpretation and the bible says the scriptures are not of private interpretation. The rule is to apply literal interpretation unless it works absurdity.. also if the trees in the garden of Eden didn't possess the supernatural qualities they were named after, why did God appoint a cherub to guard the tree of life so Adam and Eve wouldn't get to it to eat of the fruit and live forever?? So are you saying disobedience to God by eating the fruit of the tree of life would've been rewarded by God with eternal life

The Bible we are reading today has been modified a couple of times and many new things have been inserted or changed completely.

However on the issue of what you take in and what comes out, that is where I get I little confused.

Some people take high intoxicants that leads them to committing many atrocities, are we saying it is not the act of of taking intoxicants that led them to misbehave?

Jesus said and I quote- a man is not defiled by what enters his mouth but what comes out.

So a drunkard that spills rubbish is not defiled by the drink but by his vituperations?

I think it is better to abstain from anything that will intoxicate anyone to do evil.

I have not taken any hard drugs before not even Igbo but I can tell you for free that alcohol gives you boldness to do whatever you have in your heart that you are not courageous enough to do.

So you are actually doing that thing you wouldn't ordinary do when sober. Alcohol or hardrugs does not manufacture new behavior for you rather that whichever you have in your heart and not bold enough to do.

I think I can agree with the preacher that whatever you take in can not make you unclean in the sight of the Lord.

That is why using alcohol or drugs as an excuse for committing an offence is often disregarded in the law courts.

The earlier you realize the better if you have never see the brink you will never understand the forces behind this world the bible is like a safety precaution just like we have a manual for a new gadget stating what you need to do when things go bad. You may choose to read it and not and at the same time you might not read it and be doing well. The Lord who put us here knows we will make mistakes no matter the bible we read. Because we were not created to be perfect. The essense of the bible to let you what to do when you are in problem just like a manual. Dig deep when u do so you will realize you do not need to listen to these so called men of God. If I ask some of them questions on the bible they won't be able to answer it because majority are close minded. I advice do not limit your knowledge to the bible seek other books from other religion and realize the way the bible works.

Because, the definition of something being spiritual is that it cannot be seen. So, can you see the garden of eden or the fruit or the Chrub guardian?
