Read and Earn Adults Literacy Programme has said that about 44 million Nigerians cannot read enough to fill out applications and educate their children. The Coordinator of the the Read and Earn Adult Literacy, Prince Abdulsalami Ladigbolu, made the statement while declaring open the graduating ceremony of students from the programme, at the Town Hall of Kwali Local Government area of Abuja. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/33194-44m-nigerians-cant-read-group |

the stat. may have been approximated, to me is even more. judging from people i meet everyday it is a fact that more than 44million cant read or write. in our traditional system, pen and paper arent important, and this states the facts that in as much as most of us speak our local dialects we cant read or write in it. |

Hmm, this is serious statistic though I seriously doubt it. With a population of 160 million Nigerians, about 27.5% of Nigerians cannot read. Geez, why is it that I find hard to believe? |

OH YES, I sthink the statistic is very true, Guyz, dont look at just the figure reported alone, look at the fact that Nigeria is an Immense country, 44 Million is big , only in raw terms, when talking about Nigeria. Does someone get me?? |
