*Anambra State being the hardest hit, as families shelled out N350.2 million in ransom payments. *Imo State paid N39 million as ransom, Abia State paid N25 million, while Enugu State and Ebonyi State paid significantly lower amounts, with N4 million and N1 million. The South East region of the country witnessed a surge in violence perpetrated by separatist groups enforcing sit-at-home orders, which essentially attacked Nigeria’s sovereignty with effrontery and arrant disregard for constituted authority. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/01/mass-abductions-south-east-tops-ransom-payments-accounts-for-40-nationwide/ 5 Likes 1 Share

Fake news merchants at it again! In an attempt to paint the SE as unsafe, you have forgotten that they kidnap and kill in thousands in the north since over 2 decades!! No country in the world has agreed to designate IPOB as a terrorist organization! Some communities and local govt in the north are controlled by terrorists! SE is not moved by your propaganda, you can continue to release repentant terrorists… God bless igboland! 64 Likes 9 Shares |

Obviously, a flawed report. You want to tell me that bokoharam, ISWAP and bandits are down in the ladder? Stats from the ass obviously. NorthWest is top in the list. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/pidgin/articles/cj49wjz10p7o.amp 13 Likes 2 Shares

This are money extracted from citizens carrying out genuine businesses and employing thousands of Nigerians. This is disheartening. Nothing serious has been done by the government to tackle kidnapping. No equipment has been purchased to help track n bring these criminals to justice 2 Likes |

Thewrath: There's a massive underground anti-Igbo effort aimed at demarketing the south-east! It began during the wasted Buhari years and hasn't stopped even in this emilokan era! A lot of all these reports are either doctored or outright lies....but that doesn't bother the authors and their supporters! Think about it...the south-east that was adjudged the safest region BEFORE Buhari arrived the scene in 2015 is now, according to these vile and bigoted scum, the 'unsafest region' in Nigeria! Discerning and questioning minds will know what's going on here! 11 Likes |

Umunnem, it is time we rise up as one and clear out IPOB from our land. We did it to MASSOB, we can do it these umu anu efi. IPOB has not brought anything but sorrows and tears in Igboland. Nnamdi Kanu oshi will live to die a thousand deaths for bringing this monster to the once peaceful igboland. Ndi Igbo. Umu Igbo. Kunie! Were ututu chuo ewu ojii a. That's not true. They said SE is the safest place in Nigeria. They said the police and Army should leave the SE. The place is safe. I don't believe this report 5 Likes 1 Share |

Propaganda of falsehood to blackmail a people. Fear of losing cheap cash from crude oil and gas in the Niger delta region if Biafra is actualised sends rest of Nigeria into blackmail of the eastern people 11 Likes |

Rubbish report Seems these guys are all out to damage south east reputation at all course. I am always surprised why every single kidnapping event happening in Anambra for example makes it to the news but the hundreds of kidnapping event taking place in Lagos never makes the news. Kidnapping is taking place in the east no doubt but it’s not among the top four geopolitical zones in terms of number of kidnapping events taking place in the country. 5 Likes |

Thewrath: They're very stupid with that fake news. Actual facts have proven that more ransom is paid in Zamfara state than the entire SE. Kidnapping is occurring in industrial scale in the North West where entire communities are often kidnapped on a regular. Also, more ransom is paid in the South West than South East yet this foolish tabloid is reporting rubbish 🗑 9 Likes |

1.2 trillion for North west. 400+ billion for North central 240+ billion for South west 160+ billion for North east 90+ billion for South South And focus is on South East 85 billion, which is the least in the year in review The security in Nigeria is appalling that should be the focus 6 Likes |
