Tinubu is inconsequential here. If anything he slowed the refinery. Until now Dangote is still importing crude from USA and that extra strain on the lean forex supplies.
Tinubu till 2031 cool

you forget to add the need for members of Nairaland to soft pedal in the many comments that triggers so much hate and disunity. That is worse off than what external forces can cause.

I have done that a million times. You are either called a unity beggar, Afonja etc and they carry on with even more bile. I'm done with that.

Oh please . Let's stop making excuses for our leaders. They don't want a working Nigeria or African, but they are ok with Dubai and Saudi, with Taiwan and Singapore? With Ghana having uninterrupted Democracy for almost 40 years.
With India becoming the number one exporter of Tech power on Earth?

Why should anyone be responsible or interested in your development? Why should what your neighbor thinks of you be any concern?

Why should your neighbor be happy or interested
or contribute to your progress when he or she has their own problems?

Nigeria has been governed for over 60 years by Nigerians and almost all these leaders from Local Government to President are now billionaires in Naira simply by stealing from the money meant to develop your country, how is that sustainable?

Spot on!! Nigerians like to blame someone else for their troubles. That's why we emphasize on witches and wizards and churches are continually killing imaginary enemies. Meanwhile the real enemies are in government who are stealing your money and under developing the country are happy at your distraction.

No need pouring gov money into it though.

Let private firm take it on with government support.

If it’s viable, private firms will take it on.

International and local cabal at loggerheads... I pray this quickly affects the international price for crude too, lower crude price lower prices for the finished products.

Fixing Ajaokuta is a waste of money, the money that'll be used to fix it can build a modern one. The Russian contractors who built it made it very hard for anyone else to fix it.
same rhetorics and narratives were pushed when the refinery were about to be resuscitated , but it all turned out to be lies. the steel complexes will come back to life.

The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, has said that the production of petroleum products, including Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, at Dangote Petroleum Refinery, is impacting the PMS market in Europe.

How did the Russians make it hard for anyone else to fix it?

Aren’t we to be blamed here? We handed the facility over to Indians and presidential cronies who stripped it of important hardwares. And we can’t sell the damn thing without paying them off

What would it have taken for us to go back to the original manufacturer to fix the mess?

We are terrible at looking out for our collective self.. everyone is selfish, and that’s why the country is so ”effed” up.

I beg to differ.

If the state owned petroleum refineries are now working again after decades of redundancy and neglect with many casting doubt of any hope of resuscitation, who says ajaokuta and delta steel company can't work again and function optimally at a reasonable cost.

How's it Tinubu that fixed it? Make more research and stop parading your ignorance in public.

Some of you asslick the oppressor who's only interested in ripping the poor Nigerians apart. Tifnibu that was fighting with Dangote to keep importing fuel from his proxy-owned Malta refinery through his handbag NNPCshit.

Caused an untold hardships in Nigeria since it's existence.

If you don't know what to say just keep your mouth shut

If it had happened as at that time, Nigeria would have grown more exports from that time! Also we would be producing petroleum before removing subsidy!

So many positives would have come from that!
