In schools these days, a student will knock you out for the barest, it’s become a societal problem. Talk to Corpers to give you tales of their experience and how they had to climb mountains to avoid confrontations with students. People like you are why the society is the way it is, you only want to see things through your warped small mind. Water flows from a higher level to a lower, anything else is against the law of nature/life and that would be abnormal. On no account should a student attack or conspire to attack a teacher. NO ACCOUNT. helinues: |

Sultty:Yet the rate of crime committed in SE and SW are much higher than Kogi State. I'm even sick and tired of news about skulll mining, kidnapping in the SW and kidnapping and killing in the east. As it's stands now, Kogi State is safer than your SW or SE. I know you'd say it's a lie, but I can start pulling out news of many atrocities you guys are committing over there. Even the last news of a Kogi guy who beheaded his girlfriend is still a Yoruba guy from Kabba (Western part of Kogi. See, your state or region is no way better. Am I saying there is no insecurity in Kogi State? No, I'm not saying so. What I'm simply saying is, there is insecurity everywhere in Nigeria, and it's not in Kogi State alone. But if you still want to do comparisons, ironically, Kogi is safer than most states in the West and the East. In case you didn't t know, Kogi State is the only state in Nigeria that shares boundaries with 10 states in Nigeria, which means criminals from other states are threats to Kogi State, yet they are still able to manage crime rate in Kogi State. 1 Like |

IamAtAnger: You see, I am not justifying the acts of those students just that most times we shift our focus on one side of the story. You know, no one is s even interested in talking about the parents of those students.. That's poor home upbringing which is the responsibility of the parents |

helinues: Strictness has levels. Some teachers are so strict that they will tear your answer sheets if dey catch you cheating. Some of them will go further to report you to vice principal/principal for additional punishment. Some will chase you out of exam hall, preventing you from completing the exam causing you to fail and even repeat the class. Strictness get levels. Students usually tag such teachers as wicked, ignoring what they did to warrant the punishment. |

seguntijan: Very apt at the bolded. Still remember my secondary school days where I was asked to roll from one end of the floor to the other because I murmured something in class after the teacher wanted absolute silence. Like I went back to the dormitory like a rag tagged hopeless human being. Not encouraging that kind of punishment, but we still pray for our teachers till this day, like you said |

I just laugh when I read comments about students' aggression and violence towards teachers.. I have been in the noble profession for 20 years and I have taught JSS, SSS, IGCSE, and now SAT, TOEFL, IELTS and A-Levels And I make bold to say NO student has ever been rude or exhibited violence or aggression towards me... NEVER And I'm talking about extremely wealth, over-indulged and spoilt kids of top politicians, notable entrepreneurs, military and expatriates in high brow areas like Ikoyi, Victoria Island,Lekki, Magodo and Ikeja.. As a senior level teaching staff, I have interfaced with so many top politician wives, captains of industries and lots more, for discussion and consultation about their teenagers under my care. What is the medicine to dealing with these stupendously wealthy students? ? Show them you genuinely care, play with them when you have to, set boundaries for them, display small craze sometimes as a real ajepako, be fair with them, above all, respect yourself and respect them... Works for me and believe me, I am reaping good reward financially and 'connectionally" 2 Likes |

That helienus abi wetin call no dey ever get sense to comment. Egbira boys and girls if U no strong just leave them alone. I remember as a supervisor in one private company back in the days in Abuja International airport. Those guys are not different from stubborn goats. The moment I correct them like this and just turn my back small they have left their work and resume touting and hustling travellers. Sometimes out of impatience I dey change am for them and then almost all of them are cultists but when dem waka find out about me them go humble themselves. Even some no dey gree but no one ever fit match my authority or power and wisdom inside or outside work. The wise ones were settling me as oga but I still cautioned them to not do it if I'm around inspecting and going round. Egbira boys no get head and their minds no good at all na mostly wisdom I use colonize them if not they for probably set me up to fall. I have never seen a people naturally stubborn in all my journey through life. Egbira!!! Their girls na another matter lol 😂 2 Likes |

helinues: Teenagers are still growing, physically and in the mind. They can do things. Experienced this as a teacher almost 10 years ago. Now as a medical doctor, I've seen cases too. Teenagers are under the influence of massive measurements of hormones...they experiences outbursts here and there. Those that are already empowered can easily become violent. 1 Like |
