Except if the the teacher that was beating didn't know about the stage at which those students are currently in. That's why treating them with caution is important.

Teenagers are still growing, physically and in the mind.

They can do things.

Experienced this as a teacher almost 10 years ago. Now as a medical doctor, I've seen cases too.

Teenagers are under the influence of massive measurements of hormones...they experiences outbursts here and there. Those that are already empowered can easily become violent.
