SIRcumalot: SIRcumalot:Naah no way Barkley as good as Dirk. We all have our opinions and preferences sha. Dirk has had good to average supporting cast over the course of his career. Yes he failed in 06 but look at that Maverick roster compared to the Heat Harris Terry Howard Dirk Desagana Diop/Erick Dampier Vs Payton Wade Walker Alonzo Shaq Tim Duncan has also lost to an 8th seed before. Malone had the best or at least the most prolific PG of all-time and. KG had two Hall of Famers by his side. Can you categorically list Jason Terry a future HOF even Tyson Chandler. These are the guys Dirk won with. With a better roster I'm sure Dirk would have won more rings |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 6:41pm On Jun 07, 2015 |
SIRcumalot:so you would choose the mailman and barkley above him because of this criteria but act like the mailman was able to deliver a championship in utah or barkley delivered a championship in philly or phoenix. Barkley choked and so did the mailman, even duncan lost to an eight seed. dirk supporting cast was never great. only HOF was kidd |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 6:44pm On Jun 07, 2015 |
Mynd44:Thanks for the correction, totally forgot |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 6:51pm On Jun 07, 2015 |
A40:maybe tyson chandler and even he isnt a first ballot HOF. I would think everyone supporting cast was better than dirk. everyone had a first round HOF. Only dirk didnt |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 7:04pm On Jun 07, 2015 |
I am expecting warriors to sweep the cavs. The only reason the cavs made game 1 close imo was the warriors were nervous in the first q, shots didnt fall and the cavs jumped on them. So far I havent seen anyone take my bet that the cavs can win even one game this series. But Lebron is till the best in the game |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 7:40pm On Jun 07, 2015 |
SIRcumalot:You need to watch the 00-02 Lakers to appreciate just how dominant Kobe was. You can argue he had Shaq but their relationship was symbiotic. Lebron would not play in 6 Finals if he were out West. The Kings would have made the Finals easily if they were in the East. Duncan would probably have like 7 rings by now. And it goes on and on. He played in a conference when teams routinely made the playoffs with sub .500 records |
Re: The NBA Begins by SIRcumalot: 8:48pm On Jun 07, 2015 |
@A40 and Donlittle It always come back to the 2011 series for Mavs fans abi ? Barkley and KG didn't exactly play with great role players either Barkley played with Moses Malone in his rookie season and KJ in phoenix plus the added misfortune of running into MJ in the finals sames as the Mailman. KG prime was wasted with the wolves and the only time he had decent players Cassell and sprewell he ran into Shaq and kobe in the WCF. KG already started to decline in Boston he played a very significant role but Pierce was there best player. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 9:16pm On Jun 07, 2015 |
SIRcumalot:ok so why are you exactly placing these players above dirk? |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 10:40pm On Jun 07, 2015 |
A40: Anyone remember kobe's patented jumpshot where he would extend his legs outward to draw contact? Man, you couldnt touch Kobe on the way to the rim without drawing a foul. Go look up the WCF against the Blazers. Man, that was supreme home cooking. The years the Kings lost to the Lakers, they were the better team (both times), if not for the refs. If Lebron got 1/2 of the calls Kobe got, he'll be scoring 50 every night. Heck if wade or Durant or Melo got 1/2 those calls, they all would be scoring 50+ per night. Conclusion: Kobe was good, Kobe was clutch, but dayum, the refs sure helped a lot. Sorry yall, its my duty to rain on any Kobe parade I see. The dude won 2 more rings than he should have. Carry on |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 12:05am On Jun 08, 2015 |
birdman:Haha you have evidence or you are just hating on the Mamba? You even bring up the refs in the Kings series but I can recall the 2000 series. Pretty much all the Laker wins were blowouts so how did the refs influence that? Which particular game was there home-cooking vs the Blazers? We need hard evidence here not just opinion That Lakers 00-02 team were one of the most dominant team in NBA history. You can argue their competition from the East was weak but they were the best in their era by a mile! |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 12:18am On Jun 08, 2015 |
SIRcumalot:Barkley doesn't even have a ring so let's push him to one side KG's prime yielded 1 conference Final. Needed Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Tony Allen to win a ring at Boston Dirk won a ring with Tyson Chandler. Jason Terry and a 38 y.o Kidd. He beat Lebron, D.Wade and Chris Bosh (Lebron and D.Wade are top 10 all-time in their respective positions) This is not a small achievement |

Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 1:40am On Jun 08, 2015 |
A40: I went looking for the old youtube clips. I forgot sometime back the nba made google take down those clips, because it implicated several nba refs. donaghy was the only one who got caught, accidentally btw. As a sidenote, it is interesting how easy it is to wipeout info you dont want even in the internet age. Cant find a single clip via google anymore lol |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 1:52am On Jun 08, 2015 |
If the cavs lose tonight, they go down 2-0. There is no way they beat the warriors 3 straight in cleveland which means warriors play game 6 to close the series on their home court, no matter how hard cleveland plays in games 3,4,5. Given this, I expect Lebron to go into 'god' mode tonite, a-la game 6 vs Celtics some years ago. That game where he makes every almost every jump shot. I suspect it still wont be enough. The warriors actually play really good defense and I see the rest of the team struggling. warriors 2 - cavs 0 |
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 2:59am On Jun 08, 2015 |
With Lebron's physique I wish he would keep attacking the rim, rather than settle for jumpers which is exactly what the Warriors want, I don't see any player on the Warriors roaster able to stop him if he makes wiser decision with his shot selection.. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 3:09am On Jun 08, 2015 |

Damn! James is a machine. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 3:57am On Jun 08, 2015 |
Way too much contact on Lebron for the officials to just ignore, he made the right decision attacking the rim can't fault him for that. |

Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:22am On Jun 08, 2015 |
This has to be the worst officiating I have seen in a very long while, some obvious home cooking calls.. |

Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 4:25am On Jun 08, 2015 |
to be fair, LBJ has reason to be angry. man, the refs officiating this game sucked. as much as i wanted 2-0, cavs deserved this game. i want to say home cooking, but maybe its just me |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 4:28am On Jun 08, 2015 |
btw, this is the one thing that makes me think LBJ is the best in the league right now. that last shot in regular time, he got fouled. If it was Kobe taking that shot, he goes to the line. Even JVG remarked how little benefit of the doubt lebron gets on these calls. Oh well, the bball gods decided on this one. |
Re: The NBA Begins by SIRcumalot: 4:29am On Jun 08, 2015 |
Donlittle:Because I think Malone and Barkley where victims of the era they played Nepa no let me watch this game 2 How Cleveland take win |
