joshboo: The Bucks should see this one out. The Hawks made a blunder when they removed Okongwu especially. Trae is playing hurt and can barely move after he tweaked his ankle. Also, Middleton had caught fire. |

Roland17: Sweet Lou, effortless scorer. But him problem na defense they'll trade bucket for bucket with him on the floor. Baba Don old |

Roland17:... Do not forget suns too early, both teams are evenly matched imo... Going to be a good game of basketball. Besides, both team should make the finals first... |
Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 4:16am On Jun 28, 2021 |
The Bucks won even with a bad night shooting from Jrue, is a statement win. If Trae's ankle is not 100%, by Tuesday then this series will be a gentleman sweep by the Bucks |
Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 4:18am On Jun 28, 2021 |
joshboo: Assinnn, when he his on he is on. That his midrange game is as good as any in the league on his day. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:19am On Jun 28, 2021 |
carbonado: Boss, I agree with you about the Suns, Infact Monty has been my favorite coach in this playoffs but the problem is this.. No team is going to get a fair officiating chance against the Bucks… It’s obvious and that simple and that is already a disadvantage. To beat the Bucks you need to be up or tied at the final 2-3 minutes of the 4th Q and this is because they are a very good defensive team capable of closing out games. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: The NBA Begins by joshboo(m): 4:27am On Jun 28, 2021 |
Trae does a terrible job at making his team mates better. All he does is shoot and play ZERO defense. |

But give the man some praise now, he's carried this team for the most part up till this point, eve though I still the NBA is still in the pandemic bubble. joshboo: |
Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 1:38pm On Jun 28, 2021 |
On a more serious note, i think we may have to wait for a year or two inorder to ascertain the stardom/superstardom of these players. |

benji93: might want to rewatch that game. without cp3, this would be tied 2-2. |

benji93: ya know! If it was Lebron that missed the jumper Durant airballed, HEI!!! This thread for collapse 3 years ago, folks were already calling Giannis the next Lebron. Then it was supposed to be Kawhi. Then Durant. Tomorrow someone will say its Luka . See, its one thing to be able to drop 40. Its another thing to drop 40 when the defense is designed to stop YOU. And its another thing to will your team to a win with defense, steals, rebounding and bball IQ when your shot isnt falling. That is why after MJ, it was Kobe, then Lebron. No one else has fulfilled this criteria of current best player among current superstars. It should be Kawhi, but he is turning to Mr Glass, getting what I feel is bad advice from his camp. He never even tries to play through anything. AD sef fall my hand. 1 Like |

joshboo: Ahhhh Baba! I dey follow athletics very closely especially as the Olympics is here. Hopefully, I don't get banned for this. Ndi Uta full here! Erriyon Knight just broke the 200M record, Noah Lyles, Sha’Carri Richardson (speed demon), Gabby Thomas, Sydney McLaughlin (400M). E pain me say Allyson Felix will not make it to the Olympics as she failed to qualify. She is one of my favorite all time..I expect to see the Jamaican contingent of Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Shelly has fallen off since the birth of her son. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:37pm On Jun 28, 2021 |
birdman: God bless you for this post. I disagree with the embolden. LeBum is respected even amongst his haters! Many of us accept his greatness and it is well documented. As for Giannis, the league including analysts have a soft spot for Giannis and this is what I have been trying to show on this thread for 3 seasons now. No superstar has enjoyed as much excuse as Giannis has enjoyed in the history of the NBA. Even on this thread, we read how people make excuses for his failures but are quick to call out and hate on the Slimreaper/ LeBum/AD/ Chef Curry/ CP3/ Harden/Playoff P/ Porz. I don't understand it honestly! Everyone is afraid of calling out his weak mentality! No one wants to use that word even though it is the obvious. I have said it before and I will continue to reiterate it that there is a real effort by the league to dash the Bucks this Championship and get Giannis his ring! |

Roland17: Nah Mummy rocket hasn't fallen off. She simply was just taking it slowly and gently evidenced by the fact She posted the second fastest ever 100M time ever in addition to Her going under 22seconds in the 200M for the first time in Her career. Sha'Carri is the only one that has a chance of stopping a Jamaican clean sweep of the 100M podium. Shericka the third Jamaican is looking nice as well. However It's the exact opposite with the Men. The jamaicans are currently going through a rough patch with Bolt's retirement and Blake turning to sh$#e since He left Coach Mills. Ahhhh So I'm not the only one that likes Allyson Felix (she and Nia were two of my earliest Display pictures on NL. Ask A40). Being following Her career since the 2002 world juniors. Her and Jeremy Wariner were my two favourite Team US track athletes going into the Athens Olympics. Btw whilst She failed to qualify for the 200M, she is on the 400M roster and tbh the 400M is Her best shot of medalling at this Olympics especially with Shaunae Miller deciding to forego the 400M in favour of the 200M(foolish imo). Sadly Her 200M times which She affectionately calls Her baby are no longer competitive these days. |

Roland17: Ha, this hate is too much nau Giannis is likeable. He has a feel good story on his journey to the NBA, and he plays hard. People like players that give it 100%. And unlike westbrook, he does not trash talk opponents and crowds. Maybe because he is in a small market, or his imperfect english gets in the way, but he never really rubs anyone the wrong way. If nothing else, you have to give him some love for sticking with the bucks, and coming back better each season. I wouldnt say he is mentally weak either. His toolset is limited, and in the past, in must win games where he couldnt slash into the paint, there was nothing else he could do. At least this year he has some sort of crazy fadeaway, and he uses his length more to avoid those offensive fouls. |

Roland17: Haaa. Allyson Felix is going to compete in the 400m she was second fastest in the trials. |

Roland17: omo you've not really been following but you do well. Shelly Ann is the only threat to shecarri currently, she just made the second fastest time in history like 2/3weeks back, she's on the form of her life at the moment.... See her taking gold in the 100 and a close second in the 200. Omo na women dey carry athletics now ooo cos the competition there maaaad gaan. Imagine Jamaicans running sub 19 in their 200 while Knighton dey break records, if no be the Jamaican ladies In the short distances Yankee for sweep them like cobwebs |

Why you wan turn am to fight? . Na reference i reference now. You already know my stand on that man. He's one of the purest of them, and you won't have him and not be a decent team. Where you and i part ways is your claim that he's more impactful than Curry is kind of a stretch. ANd you know that. As you know how to cause problem, me to know how to cause problem. birdman: |
Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 8:25pm On Jun 28, 2021 |
There's one reason i have not quite commented on the Durant matter much, especially in comparison to Lebron. I am not going to be the one that makes @steady986 smile here by saying nice things about the man. . But I do think nobody here considers KD on the same level as Lebron. And can I not be the best player for one year in peace, or even for a few months, aba? . Abeg, just leave KD alone, he try, but well some dey try pass others. No be so this life dey? The man that said Lebron was coasting through the East with no problems made some sense, i no go lie you. We could argue the specifics, as in the conference was softer during this person's time blablabla, or it's more competitive now(which i would argue. ), but it is what it is, that man(i did not mention any name ooo. ) try well well when he was playing there. birdman: |

Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 9:19pm On Jun 28, 2021 |
Khanben: They are down 5 points late in the fourth, collins makes basket and has enough time to be winking at the camera. These guys need to stop reading headlines and just focus on the game. Hawks should have won that game, if not for some overconfident plays by Huerter late in the game. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Android17: 10:10pm On Jun 28, 2021 |
benji93: CP3 was 1/7 in the 4Q. He had never missed a free throw all through the playoffs but he missed one during the 4Q such that had PG13 not messed his up several times, the Clippers would have stolen that game. A good player in a good team will make an impact - that is a given. In fact, nobody has downplayed his impact on that team. Nevertheless, a part of a success cannot be transformed into the reason for that success. CP3 was not the reason the Suns beat the Lakers. We all saw it here. They tried to make him out to be the reason they beat the Nuggets - we ignored because we knew that there will always be control and variable experiment . The Suns were up 2-0 against the Clips without CP3. If he had played that game 2 especially, we would have heard that he drafted the play for J Crowder and Ayton. Summarily: part of success should not be concluded as reason for success. |
