I'm saying, that expectation may no longer be there as they are NOT as good as people expected. And things get tougher every season. No Team has made a return to the finals, since the warriors. When we made it to the finals 2 seasons ago and lost, the consensus was that we desperately needed a PG to help us with spacing and can score; which necessitated the trade for Brodgan.

When Brodgan arrived, the plan was to gradually transition him into the starting PG role considering he was coming off an injury with the expectation that he is the starting PG ahead of smart by the AllStar break..

But of course our resident meerkat thought otherwise as he wanted nothing to do with the shadows of Ime’s coaching and was all about shooting the 3 ball. He decided to stay with smart and while smart’s PG play and 3 point improved, he wasn’t what we needed to help the Jays with moving away from the ball and important P&R.

When you watch the Celtics this season, you will see infallible evidences of bad coaching. Remember, for those with good memory, I started wailing about Mazulla’s coaching early into the regular season and people like you trivialized it. This team still has another run in them when I look at the Eastern conference but Mazzulla needs to get out of the way! The Jays don’t need best friends as coaches, they have bad habits that require discipline.

We were too stagnant this season, no ball or player movement…and most importantly, we lost the Celtics identity which is stifling defense. We saw bit of it here and there but nothing like it was our identity!

Na, it was about the salary. No team is willing to absorb that 30M/Yr for the remaining 2 yrs (team option for 2nd yr) and the only way the Suns could get it off their books was to waive him before June 28 and accrue a mere 16M for next season.

The SA Spurs should consider pursuing him, he would be tremendous for Wemby’s growth/ development and they are not expected to win now.

You are right about retaining them but their success has largely been because of the Heat system, style and coaching.
I’d like to see them to get paid because they deserve it but I don’t think they will replicate this level of success on another team.
