birdman: The reality is he'll never have the kind of strength people want him to get. That's just his body type. He can't have a greater career than KD for exalple and that's not a slight on him because KD has had a HOF career. KD had all the skill but that dominance was lacking because of the shortfall in physicality. And in the NBA you need that physicality. |

steady986:lol we all just finished watching jokic. He dominated all night during the playoffs to win the championship. Tim duncan wasn’t athletic and led the spurs to multiple championship. Dirk nowitzki. These guys dominated and where the best in their days. Na recency bias they make people put KD higher than these guys. You no be God o, you no fit determine how far person career go go 7 Likes |

steady986: Lol. Since when has KDs built been a hindrance? This is one of the purest scorers in the NBA history. There are many ways to score, you either go physical and do post ups like Lebron and Giannis, or you have a good jumpshot, the problem with relying on physicality is that, there is always that person who you won't be able to blow by. KD is highly skilled, he has never needed to be physical. 5 Likes |
Re: The NBA Begins by Skrrrrrrr: 12:57pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
donlittle25: Lol. And the funny thing be say, lack of strength has never been KDs problem. Plus the Kid has a good chance to become bigger than KD if he wants, giannis was not this big in his rookie year. Even Chet Holmgren has added weight. |

Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:13am On Jul 14, 2023 |
Skrrrrrrr: That's why he's never in the GOAT conversation. Look at all those who have ever been in the GOAT conversation. They have one thing in common. They were physically dominant. MJ was a physically imposing guard, you know what Bron is, I don't need to tell you about Wilt or Bill. Kareem was dominant in his prime. Magic was a 6"9' guard. Go through the top 10 GOAT list and you'd see that physicality is a common theme. |
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:15am On Jul 14, 2023 |
Kibbs: I'm even generous saying this. KD is a top 15 or top 20 at most, and saying Wemby will not have a greater career than him is not reaching |
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:21am On Jul 14, 2023 |
donlittle25: Dirk had a fine career, but he's not the GOAT neither can you say he's in the conversation. And you mention Jokic? Lol. Jokic is as physical as they come. Forget that he doesn't have muscle. You can't stop Jokic in the post. Go and ask AD Duncan was physical. Note, when I say physical, I don't necessarily mean athletic. Although it could be part of it. There are many ways to be physically imposing, and size and build is definitely a reason for that, as well as the way you use that size. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 6:34am On Jul 14, 2023 |
steady986: Question, was Kareem physical? From what I have heard, Wemby's team is trying to go the KAJ route, instead of adding too much muscles, they are going for agility instead. KAJ played at around 205 all his career at 7ft 2in. Wemby can go for the lean, agile 80s style center who don't pump iron. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: The NBA Begins by Skrrrrrrr: 9:09am On Jul 14, 2023 |
steady986: Absolute nonsense. Non of those guys had the skillset of Durant. Durants major issue has always been his poor mentality. If he had as much rings as Lebron, despite hopping teams, just as much, he'd be in the Goat conversation. Infact, if he had won his rings with the Thunder, rather than joining the warriors, he'd be ranked just as High as those guys... The difference between Lebron and Durant, is simply mentality. Carrying a team on your back when it matters most, like he did with the Cavs. Not any nonsense physicality. Physicality or no physical, the goal is to score and Durant does that just as much (better sef, forget longevity) as Lebron. If Jokic continues in this direction, he'd be in the Goat conversation and he isn't physical... 3 Likes |

Re: The NBA Begins by donlittle25: 11:13am On Jul 14, 2023 |
A40:My opinion is the same. I rank Dirk ahead of him, KG and the rest. Guy did what a lot of players couldn't do, If Cuban surrounded him with a better team, He would have more rings. Regardless his ring was more dignified than that of KD and the rest. He did it his own way, and the best way IMO. 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:55pm On Jul 14, 2023 |
Khanben: KAJ was about 220/225 in his peak weight. But I know Wemby will get there too. But I also know he'll grow taller. He's currently 7"5. And the difference is Wemby's game is going to be different from KAJ's. And lets face it, 7"2' will always have a smaller centre of gravity than 7"5' |
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 6:06pm On Jul 14, 2023 |
Skrrrrrrr: All these your IFs. If my mum were a man I'd call her dad. But let's use Steph for an example. He has 4 rings. Why isn't he in the GOAT conversation? Steph won a 4th ring and the best argument he could get is "Is he the greatest point guard ever?" And when I say physical, you think I don't also mean the end result of it and all the advantages that comes with it? With physicality, you can go and get a bucket basically whenever you want and no one can stop you. And that's how you help your team win games. That's how you help your team win championships. Imagine KD was 20-25 pounds heavier. Man, he'd be unstoppable. When the jumpshots don't fall, you can say to yourself, "fu*k this shit, I'm going to the basket". Going to the basket means your chances of scoring increases because you either score a layup or a dunk or you go to the line. And lastly, this notion that you’re peddling of Jokic not being physical is strange. Is it the same Jokic me and you are watching? 2 Likes 1 Share |

steady986: I'm sure you don't even know that Durant Has a higher career PPG than LeBron James. This is someone with 4 scoring titles to Lebrons 1. Durant scores whenever and however he wants. Skrrrrrrr: Lol. The greatest scorer that ever lived has 0.1 more points than LeBron while playing 5 fewer seasons. I'm really impressed Let's see what his ppg number would be after year 20 . And PS, KD has 4 scoring titles to LeBron's 1 but LeBron has more 30ppg seasons than KD. KD won scoring title with a freaking 27.7ppg, which is just 0.5 points more than LeBron's career average. Twice LeBron averaged 30+ppg and didn't win scoring title. KD won scoring title in his two 30ppg seasons. That’s why these things are very tricky when you analyse them fully . |

donlittle25:That 2011 run was top 5 hardest in NBA history. Swept Kobe, Pau and Phil Gentleman swept KD and Russ Beat Bron, Wade and Bosh in their primes With Jason Terry your second best player. Jason Terry did not have a single Allstar or all NBA appearance Dirk played on decent teams for short bursts but never was on a loaded team. Personally I have him #3 all time at the PF position Duncan Malone Dirk |

steady986: He his not 7"5 the Spurs measured him at 7"3 issh. All I am saying is, Kareem never bulked up. His training was more agility focused, and he was reIatively injury free for a big man. |

Khanben: Gobert is almost 7"2' o. And have you seen Gobert stand close to Wemby before? Anyway, I'm not suggesting Wemby is not going to be great. All I'm saying is if he has a career that is just short of the career KD has had, then that would be a massive success |
