For those earning between 2 million and 5 million per month ,either doing business or 9 to 5, is there really a need to travel? And go become a slave in another man's country? I see some crazy people earning really high and they leave it all and go 1 Like 1 Share |

First of all, you need to disabuse yourself of the notion that people japa MAINLY for financial reasons. To japa to any MEANINGFUL country, you'd need a BOATLOAD of cash. Japa is NOT for poor people. Even when some people get lucky with JUICY scholarship opportunities, they still need to have a lot of money. Japa is CAPITAL-INTENSIVE. So people who engage in it are NOT primarily driven by financial gains. It's about the standard of living, opportunities for self-actualisation, guaranteeing a better future for their kids and, more importantly, they desire to live in a society that VALUES human life. Nigeria is NOT safe! Kidnapping is a TRILLION Naira industry in this country and there is NO end in sight. Travelling on Nigerian roads, especially interstate routes, is begging to get KILLED. If the POTHOLES don't kill you, the Fulani Herdsmen will. And if NEITHER of them gets you, CELEBRITY KIDNAPPERS are waiting to use you to build their next MANSION. While all these are going on, the economy is being FUCCKED by crooks who'll tell you that you just have to ENDURE the economic turmoil while they LAVISH Billions on BULLETPROOF vehicles every year. And if you make the mistake of getting SICK with anything other than Malaria, begin to prepare your LAST TESTAMENT. 'Cause hospitals have FEW equipment and FEWER Doctors. And the Doctors left are OVERWORKED, JADED and NONCHALANT. In Nigeria, Doctors use surgery as a THREAT! Plus buying drugs in Nigeria is like playing BET9JA with your life. You could buy FAKE drugs that end up COMPOUNDING your health issues. The HORRIBLE nature of our health industry is why Politicians jet out of the country to treat ordinary CATARRH. As if that ISN'T bad enough, you still have to deal with the ENDLESS GREED of the common man. Petty traders will JACK UP the price of goods by 200% in two weeks and blame it on inflation. Wickedness and greed mingle with the already polluted air of the country to CHOKE you in perpetuity. That creates an aura of HOPELESSNESS in Nigeria that sensible people will, and MUST, strive to escape. When you see financially stable people GAMBLE it all to japa and start from scratch in a foreign country, keep these in mind. 1 Like |

I would japa just for the better schools and libraries. Image below is a telephone booth that's been converted to a library. People just put books in it so you just take any book you want. No need to register or bring it back if you don't want. People in the community volunteer to clean and keep it tidy in their own time. P s. I value knowledge than money.

Crokky: Oh! Its not slave if you are being paid. Its in fact less slave if you are being paid on time and are treated with greater respect than you would be in Nigeria. And however much you earn on initial arrival, further educating yourself will increase your pay and get you promoted so you become the oga of some people one day. But please don't japa. Just visit so you'd understand why you shouldn't live in Plato's Cave. |

I'll rather be a king in my own land than a help in another man's land. |
