In three years time, by GOD's Grace we all be here to witness it, the Arewa Consultative and Consensus elders will have the reins of control of the Northern politics delivered back into their hands. Expectedly, this will be done by Boko.

Miraculously, they lost hold of the reins when IBB became president. Northern politics, . . . excuse me while I rephrase that, AREWA politics was Sardauna's politics. The legacy and the blueprint was designed to concentrate power in the caliphate (Sokoto) and to distribute or fan-out designations from that center to the inner seven emirates and therefrom to exercise regional control and political drive. Sardauna's vision was not detached from the sentiments of his ancestor, Usman Dan Fodio, who established the Caliphate and an elite class Emirates over the Hausas.

Long story short, Sardauna had what you can call wall to wall formation extending from Sokoto to Borno and including Katsina, Daura, Kano, Zaria, Bauchi. In Sardauna's life a Gwari like IBB would never have been endorsed as the face of Arewa politics. . . .never, ever!

In terms of tribal homogeneity, Arewa has the same problem in the North that is faced by Igbos in the East, except that their politics in North is married to the religion in Sokoto and has gone unchallenged by their minorities, thereby giving the elite corps of rulers in Arewa a de facto authority to swing the region in tune to Islamic doctrines. College education has created an explosion of liberal ideas and detachment away from old sentiments taught within city walls; so a new crop of elitism is growing and heading away from the Sardauna stewards. They are finding and creating their own independent thoughts, not waiting for instructions from the top and most of what they create is leaning far out from traditional creeds fanned out from the Caliphate. Boko is bent on changing this development and bringing power back to the base.

I can see that your frustration with a President who seems impotent when it comes to defeating Boko Haram, a terrorist organization, had led you to the conclusion that Boko Haram is a tool of the caliphate. Your response to the current Boko Haram war in not unexpected really. You too are a victim of neglect and presidential inaction. My suggestion to you is that you should not allow anything to becloud your objectivity.

The caliphate has nothing to do with Boko Haram. olodo

lmao! you fool!! grin, go and siddon somewhere.

There are naturally patriots who independently and uncollaboratively understand what is going in that society. Boko Haram is one of those whose teachings and aspirations are oriented to the Caliphate. It is defending the institution, even before the institution has granted it authority to do so.
A different kind of independent thought and passion, a conservative one so to say, in opposition to the threat of encroaching liberalism.

True, they are not endorsed by Sokoto but Sokoto know what to do to wipe them off the ground. What's the delay?
