aswani: When Adekunle landed his forces in Warri,he chased the Biafran forces up to the borders of Anioma. This was the agreed path the war would take and that is liberating non Igboid areas in the Midwest and Biafra of Ojukwu's rebel forces. Then Azikiwe and other Ibo politicians begged Gowon to bring them back to Nigeria. The police action should have ended with the liberation of the Midwest and the minority provinces of the old Eastern Nigeria But Gowon wanted a bigger Nigeria to check future Fulani adventurism. And now we are stuck with these ingrates running their mouths |

GBTYO: If you know what the Biafran army did in Benin (in collusion with Ndigbo that lived there), and we thank God that ẹ pa Nowa Omoigui detailed some (RIP sir), you would be amazed that Ivb'edo have such a forgiving spirit that Ndigbo's are still allowed back in that city. Thank you for this thread, I am really enjoying your authoritarian and knowledgeable responses. Another reason not to let Obidients chase me away from here 1 Like |

Greenback: Hehehe. The past that you have all been revisiting and twisting to paint yourselves as innocent victims and going ahead to use it to gaslight the rest of Nigeria? For how many years did that lunatic run his vile tongue twisting truth and spreading lies from his studio in London ? Did you ever tell him to stop and leave the past in the past ? Ewü 1 Like |

Another good question is what would have happened if Colonel Banjo had refused the commission to lead the liberation army into the Midwest and west. I am not sure that Colonel Ojukwu would have continued with the plan and Nigeria would have broken up. |

mrvitalis: A vice in a cabinet full of Ndigbo. Interesting that Biafra was a majority Igbo nation but they got a minority to sign the surrender, I guess the visual of an Ndigbo signing it would have been too much to bear. Why didn't Ikemba take his able deputy Effiong to Ivory coast with him? Hmm. 1 Like |

lawani: Ojukwu would have had him shot . Banjo was under immense duress and I am sure that he did not have the complete picture of what was going on and fell for Ojukwu's lies. It was at Benin that Banjo saw that he made a grave mistake as he detailed how the so-called liberators went about harassing and killing civilians they claimed they came to save from the Fulani. |

GBTYO: Ikemba said Banjo stalled the advance toward Ọrẹ and wasn't interested in knowing why. Banjo was having to spend time with Benin Chiefs clearing up the mess his rag tag, uncivilised and ill disciplined troops were making all over Benin making not just them being hated but all Ndigbo's too (including those that had lived there before the invasion) Not a hope in hell could he head of towards Ọrẹ knowing ahead were enemy troops and behind was an enemy location and environment. That would have been suicide for him and his troops. Once more, please keep up your energy and history lesson. You are doing a great job even if for posterity sake. 1 Like |

GBTYO: I don't agree with that. He did not take the commission under duress. I believe he could have politely refused. It was a mistake for him to accept the commission for which he paid with his life. |

aswani: What was he to do? If I were in his shoes , the only thing I would have done was to defect but given that he led an invasion into what was Nigeria's territory , I don't think he will receive any flowers on arrival in Lagos. He was stupid to have accepted Ojukwu's commission and rather remained in detention and ride the storm. 1 Like |

lawani: Politely refused, you are joking and you don't seem to understand the lack of regard for life, even Ndigbo ones, in Biafra. Hannibal used to send troops to missions and then sometime later went towards that area, any one he saw straggling behind (some in an attempt to avoid their suicide mission), he simply shot and killed, no questions asked. Banjo was unlucky, he couldn't surrender when he got to "Nigeria"as the Northerners wanted his head on a plate for his (alleged) part in the January 1966 coup. It was Biafra or bust for him. 1 Like |

GBTYO: That's what people like me advocate, that the long failed British colonial experiment called Nigeria has proved to be a monumental disaster. If the British had not brought us together, you would not be opening one useless thread after other to talk about 1966 to 1970, a very short period of Nigerian history, talking about coup and war. That short history should have to told you we should not be together, we should never have been together. So the present generation should use referendum to undo the mistake called Nigeria the British came to West Africa to make. I would be very happy if my fellow Igbos had a seperate independent country out of Nigeria, wether landlocked or not in immaterial. There are many landlocked countries in Africa and they survive. We have no business being together, we never did 1 Like |

GBTYO:If you like create 1 million thread on all the coup. This has always been how the SW achieve thr economic and political game. The last election. The North gave T pain 5 million votes. The North made the SW president possible. This is a mistake they have vowed not to allow happen again. The SE,the igbos in lagos and everywhere in nigeria will align with North to remove SW president. We are only interested in the present and future. The SW president is the worst thing in human existence. He brought upon nigeria APC and Buhari to destroy. The best region to deal with by igbos for anything is North. The SW are double face and envious of any success you make. You can create millions of thread to play the energy game btw two region. It will not work.Let the SW make T pain president in 2027 if they feel they can. Pls tell him to make seyi governor of lagos in 2027 and change the name to tinubu state..lol 1 Like |

It wasn't just Gowon that stopped them. It was Britain that advised them against it. Britain opened their eyes to the reason of amalgamation owing to budget deficit in the north. They promised to back them with military intelligence and strategies. |

The present and future is what is important to hungry Nigerians. This level of hunger was caused by last government which the present TPain gave to Nigerians The northern politicians has been vocal and threatening to unseat SW president. The formal governor of kaduna just join in the music When will all these SW media rat start creating thread to face thr fear which is the north as they claim SE vote is not important. Why do SW react in different directions when slap comes from a known directions. When will the cowardice nature stop. They think they can play hate massages and thread. We will crash this thread next yr when the election draws near.
