What's Happening To My Pepper Plants by Zammzammm: 8:34pm On Jan 31
I plant some pepper in my compound about 2 months ago, they were doing very well cause I fertilize them with chicken manure and GNLD SUPER GROW organic fertiliser.

However, after sometime the fresh shoots started turning greenish brown and became stunted and will not flowered nor grow any longer. All the new branches ended likewise.

Is there any farmers who has experienced this before, please share and advice. I spray the pepper with Lara Force insecticide but no improvement.

Thanks

The plant looks like the manure was applied too close to the roots. A distance of 5-8 Cm should have been applied. Anything too close would lead to plant burn. If the volume of the SuperGRO is too concentrated, it would also lead to these kinds of problems ?

What was the mixing formular you used for he SuperGRO ?

WHAT QTY of manure did you use per plant ?

Must fertilizer be added to everything we grow? Even the ones for personal consumption.
Can't plants be grown without fertilizer?

if this is your first time planting on that piece of land, and the soil is not clay, then I would say you don't even need fertilizer or manure for now.
Except your target is to harvest and sell which means you want to force the plant to hyper produce.

I do compound gardening myself so I know what I'm saying.

In my garden, i use no fertilizer, I allow the pepper plants take their time and it tells on quality of pepper plant it produces.

Same with the likes of Plantain , Ugu, Efo Iyana-ipaja (Hospital too far) , pawPaw, etc.

One of my reason(s) for doing gardening is to reduce reliance of fertilized foods and I'm not about loosing sight of that
