When would the presidency look into this marketers who have been the pain in the ass not only to the government but Nigeria masses?
The reason is very simple. You cannot see others if you cannot look at yourself in the mirror.

Dangote does not love Nigeria, he just want to take out his competitors, I bet you when this importers lose there capital, you will buy fuel for 2000 per liter from dangote, that what happened in cement

The price slash is not for us, it is part of his monopoly game. This is one best thing this man knows how to do, that's how we have no major cement competitor today and then he keeps tuning the price up like radio frequency

Once he runs all the marketers out of business, he starts play chess game with the price... we are in for a long ride

God bless you. You're the only one seeing this.

That Dangote guy is nothing but a wicked moda4ka.

It's not the marketers fault, if Dangote fuel is cheaper than the imported ones, they would patronise him

There's no single marketer incurring a Kobo of loss, they're just entertaining you guys while ripping you off. Petrol is way cheaper than your being told even with all taxes

you have no idea what goes on behind close door of these large corporations, do you know Microsoft own one of the largest shares in apple?. Its still Monopoly with less than 500 companies in the business. BUA , Larfage and Dangote, who else?. Do you even know if he owns those three companies? Until we have over 500 cement companies in Nigeria then we can enjoy a free market, but who will give them the license, who will give them the rocks. ?
we all know the owners of BUA and Larfarge. Now, there are market leaders in almost all consumer goods. Do you know that, Dangote once had and operated a nodules Factory? Do you also know that, that same factory was acquired by Indomie as Dangote could not survive in the segment of the market? Why don't we shout monopoly on indomie in the nodules market as they are head and shoulders above all? That someone is leading in a particular market doesn't mean we should unfairly accuse them of monopoly. How many licenses were granted to people to build refineries before Dangote and who among them built it? Is it Dangote that said the 3 refineries that owned by the government shouldn't work? To the best of my knowledge, people are free to apply for licences to invest in any segment of the economy and they will be granted. Dangote endured to build his refinery to finish and all of a sudden, we are shouting monopoly. Does he stop any other person from building theirs? Even now, they say BUA is building his. They even say the government refineries are working now. The market is also a free one where importation too is not banned, people are free to buy fuel anywhere. So where is the monopoly by Dangote?

No, the market is fully deregulated and pricing is out of the PPPRA's hands. It is now sorely due to competition.

If retailers feel imported petrol is cheaper, let them as this will ensure that private refineries do not hold the customers to ransome.

And then it is also the business of these private refineries to make sure they sell lower than the imported price this makes importing unlucrative.

If the government puts higher import duties on imported fuel, local refineries won't compete, all they will do is just make sure their prices are a bit lower and they win even though it can be lower
exactly.

This is what is being done in cement industry. Now it's the same price across board because they were not allowed or there is big import duty on cement.

We cannot allow dangote to do this petrol.

Let dangote continue to compete with imported product, it's good for the consumers.

Some marketers are crooks, they won’t reduce the price until the clear the one on stock, you think say dem send anybody? The regulatory agency are docile.
Re: Dangote Price Slash: Marketers With Imported Fuel Fear Losses by Mom007(f): 8:10am
This Dangote man needs to be checked. This price slash is nothing but vindictiveness aimed at punishing those that went to import fuel rather than buy his more expensive fuel. So he knew he could slash to 890 all the while they were asking him to look into his price? How can the so called home based be selling more expensive than whats obtainable from imports? Nigeria matter dey tire person abeg.

Favorable Global crude oil prices and having a functional refinery contributed to this.

If only it can fall lower than ₦500 per L
let fo the calculation together
1 barrel of oil have 156 litters of fuel
1 barrel of oil is $76
$1 is #1490

#1490×76 = #113 240

156 litters × 500 =#78000

A barrel of crude oil gives almost times 4 or 5 of its value after refining. Petrol, diesel, kerosene, Vaseline, tar, lpg, black oil, engine oil, PVC, synthetic pharmaceutical etc
Re: Dangote Price Slash: Marketers With Imported Fuel Fear Losses by Blackman101: 8:28am
How many pumps at the filling stations are dispensing fuel at the correct rate per litre before we talk about loose.

let weights and measure department and DPR visit any filling station with measuring devices including NNPC outlet and do a check and we will be surprised with the outcome.

this cry about lose when price is reduced by Dangote is no problem to the marketers, their always find a way of getting their money from the consumers through the back door.

Sure, can't lay my hands on the full breakdown. It cost around 3-5$ per barrel for refining. Drilling per barrel cost BTW 20-50$. Nigeria drilling cost $48/barrel

Petrol stations has really been a pin in the ass to the final consumers. This reduction should be padded with enforcement by the people in-charge.

My pain amongst all these is that many are still selling bunkry (locally refined fuel) with this same price thing. It’s crazy
Re: Dangote Price Slash: Marketers With Imported Fuel Fear Losses by engrchykae(m): 9:06am
It's Nigerians that will still pay heavily when the competitors are out.

Re: Dangote Price Slash: Marketers With Imported Fuel Fear Losses by david102(m): 9:22am
This shows that the price of Dangote petrol could go as low as 800 naira...... Well he has to make his capital back as soon as possible for the refinery
Re: Dangote Price Slash: Marketers With Imported Fuel Fear Losses by david102(m): 9:25am
They are making money like crazy, when fuel was subsidized they were making more... Subsidiaries gone they are cashing out more....

No competitor producing cement have ever been driven out of business..only those who imported (Ibeto)..

It is better he drives importers out of business and force them to build their own refinery to compete favourably..

Nigeria had only 4 cement plant before Dangote came in to complete..in 20 years the number of cement plants has risen to 10 with a new plant being built in Ogun
