City Boy Movement South-east Backs Tinubu's Economic Policies, Constitutes New Leadership South-East Zone of City Boy Movement has elected a new leader. She is Chief Mary Ikoku (Mrs), who is the Coordinator of the Movement in Abia State. This was part of the resolutions reached at its 2025 First Quarter Meeting, held at Awibe Hall, Owerri, Imo State capital, on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The group which is already entrenched in all states of South-east threw its weight behind the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The movement also noted that it has taken a unified stance to strengthen and reposition its structure in the region. A communique issued by the movement at the end its meeting, signed by the South East Zonal Secretary, Prof. I.K Ogwo, reads: “The City Boy Movement, South East Zone, has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has taken a unified stance to strengthen and reposition its structure in the region. “Vote of Confidence: The leadership of the South East Zone unanimously passes a vote of confidence in the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Demonstrating our support for his vision for Nigeria's economic growth. “Loyalty to Established Leadership: The movement reaffirms its commitment to its legitimate leadership structure and vow to reject any illegitimate factions, ensuring the movement's unity and stability. “Zonal Leadership Appointment: All state leaders have unanimously agreed that the Abia State leader, Chief Mrs. Mary Ikoku shall serve as the Zonal Leader of the City Boy Movement, South East Zone, effective immediately. Anambra Leader to serve as Deputy Zonal Leader “Regular Meetings & Reporting: All State Executives (Excos) are to convene regularly and provide updates to the Zonal Secretariat for onward transmission to the National Body. “All Local Government Areas (LGAs) are to organize and strengthen their structures down to the ward and polling unit levels, ensuring regular meetings and consistent reporting to the state leadership. “Unified Front: The South East leaders pledge to remain united and resolute in resisting any attempts to destabilize the movement in the region, ensuring our collective interests are protected. “Escalation of Unresolved Matters: Any unresolved matters at the zonal level shall be escalated to the movement's Grand Patron, Seyi Tinubu, for guidance and resolution in cases where the National Body is unable to provide satisfactory redress. “City Boy South East Zonal Youth Summit 2025 : The movement resolved that the City Boy South East Zonal Summit 2025 shall hold in Owerri, Imo State, by March 2025, providing a platform for stakeholders to converge and discuss the movement's progress and future plans. “These resolutions demonstrate the City Boy Movement's commitment to upholding its values, maintaining unity, and driving progress within the South East Zone, Nigeria.
