The wood cost N575k and labour cost 100k and the Aluminium cost 630k including labour and i paid the project manager 30k

I took my carpenter to this site to commence the installation of pvc ceiling boards in this house.

I am hoping to see nice finish to the ceiling. Howerever, I have seen some pvc ceiling that beggars belief & quite shocking, where the whole ceiling so bent it almost look it a design on its own. No be by force ooooooo.

more rooms ceiled, but the colour of the edge dont match, if am the one buying, the colour should be white or gray.

meanwhile plastering has since started inside the rooms.

Each bundle costs N9k, there are about 15 bundles used and the carpenter that fixed it took N15k for everything. Its not all carpenters that can do this. Out of all my 8 carpenters, only 2 can do this.

Having seen the beauty exterior cornice(parapets) adds to a structure,I am hooked and would love to have it installed in my building.However there is a hitch.It wasnt in the original plan and as such the bungalow hasnt got pillars.Can anybody be kind enough to tell me if it is still possible without pillars or i would have to erect pillars.

What is the stage of the building now?

Thanks, we just spoke on phone some minutes ago, but for the benefit of others, I told him to create spaces at all the corners of the house and insert reinforced columns. If the width of the house is too long, more columns should be slotted at the center of the front and back lines.

been following your threads and I'm very much impressed. Abeg, help me out here. I have a contractor that has built and billed me about N4.5m for a 3 bedroom bungalow on dry land only to roof level; no plastering, no finishing whatsoever has been done yet. The property is in Lagos. Should i run or should i continue in good faith. Seeing that you have completed a similar project with less than 2.6m is making me very apprehensive.

The foundation reached 5 blocks high

@ chuka, I would have loved to say the amount is too high, but I noticed something, you said this is dry land, why is he taking N450,000 for laterite? Does the land need filling? Why 5 blocks high if its on a dry land?

Just grill him further on some of the costs and he may reduce something. I am planning to do an almost equal size of this on for N3m (skeleton and roofing only in Enugu soon)

Oga spyder. Shouldn't the plastering been achieved before the installation of this ceiling, so dat the masons won't mess up the ceiling with motar? Just my thought

No, outside plastering before inner ceiling, inner ceiling before inner plastering to seal all spaces between walls and ceiling to avoid insect and other ills getting into the rooms.

Messing up the ceiling is not a problem, it could be washed off immediately after the plastering, before it gets dry.
