What you're saying sort of makes sense, considering those I know who lived through the thick of the war, both actively and passively, yet are old men at this point with still perfectly good vision.
More importantly, I have an elderly aunt who can benefit from the knowledge you're sharing if it can work for her, as she's about to lose both eyes.
