A viral video showing a self-acclaimed Nigerian "Big Boy" flushing stacks of Naira notes down a toilet has sparked widespread outrage online. The unidentified young man, appearing to show off his wealth, was captured in the footage dropping bundles of cash into a water cistern before flushing, claiming he was "too rich" to care.

This reckless display of extravagance has angered many Nigerians, with social media users calling on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to take action. Some netizens pointed out that such an act violates Section 21 of the CBN Act (2007), which prohibits the abuse of the Naira, including defacing or destroying currency notes. The offense carries a punishment of at least six months in prison, a fine of ₦50,000, or both.

Critics have also linked such behavior to illicit wealth, arguing that "money that comes too easily or illegally is often wasted carelessly." Others condemned the act as a show of disregard for the country's economic struggles, calling it an insult to millions of hardworking Nigerians.
