It's unfortunate this has to be written by a non-igbo and brought to the scrutiny of xenophobia.

The truth is the igbo culture is a very realist culture. Igbos believe in results.

The igno culture especially abia and anambra have a strong affinity for money.
For the abia, it takes a lot of money to marry one of their daughters.
While for the anambra, it takes a lot of money to undertake funerals.

With this precedence, igbos are pressured to seek every means possible to be rich.
For the average igbo;
1. It is either a matter of resorting to rituals in Okia shrine or similar idols.
2. Venturing into crime such as ritual-killing, frauds, occultism, etc.
3. Resorting to church as a business.

The high cost of living in Nigeria has been largely linked to the activities of the igbos. Interestingly as this has come to affect majority of the igbos, they themselves now seek help from govt to help put their kinsmen in check.
