App/Software Idea: A Citizens Powered E-collation Platform For Election Results. by BluntCrazeMan: 10:52pm On Mar 14 |
Here is an idea that came into me.. The idea is all about the development of a very useful App/Software.. Web-Developers and App-Developers, please take note. The App/Software is supposed to be an Electioneering App/Software. Description: It should be a Crowdsourced Election Results Collation App/Software that would allow the users to use both the options of “Keying-In” Input and “Photo-Upload” Input for the various Original Results at the Polling-units, and the same inputs methods also for the results that were collation at the Wards, LGAs, States and National Collation Centers. This Collation App/Software should be able to add and/or tally these inputs, and then categorize these tallied results in their various levels of outputs (Wards, LGAs, States, National/Final), and at the same time, be able to compare the tallied results at any level (as automatically computed by the App/Software) with the ones done by the INEC Officials which were inputted into the App/Software for that same level by the users of the software (either keyed-in or photo-uploaded). For any Polling-unit results that are keyed-in into the App/Software by the users, the App/Software must wait until a certain minimum number of users keyed-in the same (exact similar figures) before it can work on the figures for such a polling-unit -- this would serve as the security checks and balances for the figures that were inputted into the App/Software. In situations where there are Polling-units with more than one sets of results which are consistently keyed-in multiple times by the users, (it then means that there are more than one result that are actually existing for such a polling unit -- even though it is supposed to be only one Result.. Thus, only one result out of all those results is supposed to be the real authentic result) the machine should identify all those Polling-units that has more than one identified results, FLAG THEM RED, and then, do all possible combinations of parallel Collations in the background while putting these sets of Polling-units where multiple results were identified into consideration. The more the number of identified multiple results for any Polling-units, the more the number of possible parallel collations there would be. In cases where there are no inputted INEC Results to compare the results that were tallied by the App/Software, the App/Software would indicate such.. .. .. ***Meanwhile in the meantime, a tech-guru is preparing to launch an App/Software which is almost similar to what I have described above on the June-12th 2025.. (Midnight). The name of the App/Software is: “CITIZEN MONITORS”.. https://citizenmonitors.com/ So,, ANTICIPATE it.!! At Citizen Monitors, we believe data should be upright - This platform stands at the forefront of harnessing the power of data to drive positive change across the continent. Our primary objective is to enable citizens of Nigeria and Africa to subtly own, strategically aggregate, and bravely use data to hold institutions of political and electoral power accountable through crowdsourcing technology. .. .. At the same time,, I sincerely plead and beg on all the other Web-Developers and App-Developers who have our dear country at their hearts to also take-on on similar Projects for the sake of our dear country.. 1 Like 1 Share

The real truth is that ..... I made a promise to myself not to give up on Nigeria yet.. .. (I don't know how long the “yet” may be,, but for now, the promise is still standing and binding) |

It will still be manipulated so far Nigerian politicians are concerned. |

chatinent: I know.. Let something come out first.. Let them Nigerians try to manipulate the something that came out.. Then, more “somethings” with better proofing will still come out.. .. We must not always continue box ourselves by ourselves into the corner every time. 1 Like 1 Share |

BluntCrazeMan: What is the different between this and the one each political party used as colqtion centre ...do you think each political candidate doesn't have a robust monotoring mechanism that they will rely on your app to know the results. . Abi you wan cash out against innocent Nigerians by asking them to pay for your services .... |
Re: App/Software Idea: A Citizens Powered E-collation Platform For Election Results. by BluntCrazeMan: 5:41am On Mar 15 |
bmaster2000: Read the emboldened part of your own write-up very well.. YOU HAVE ALREADY ANSWERED YOURSELF UP THERE.!! Each political party have their own, and they don't share their results with the public (or with any other political parties).. SO, WHICH ONE DOES THE PUBLIC HAVE.?? Absolutely NOTHING.!! Therefore,, if EACH Political Party could have their own Collation Platforms inside their own situation rooms, and they are free to use it solely for themselves anyhow they liked,,, then, what prevents the GENERAL PUBLIC to also have AS MANY COLLATION PLATFORMS AS POSSIBLE,, and make all these Platforms open and accessible to the public.?? .. ...do you think each political candidate doesn't have a robust monitoring mechanism that they will rely on your app to know the results... The Apps and Softwares when developed (by the members of the General Public) would also serve the GENERAL PUBLIC..,, and not any of the Candidates nor their Political Parties.. Whatever ROBUST MONITORING MECHANISMS which the candidates set up for themselves,, let it work for them.!! THAT IS NOT OUR BUSINESS.!! .. Abi you wan cash out against innocent Nigerians by asking them to pay for your services.... I can now see that you're a dullard.!! Did anybody mention money here.?? Must you impose dirty thinking into everything.?? 2 Likes 1 Share |

Any reliable technology to deepen our electoral processes is a welcome development but is the current NASS and government ready for that? All their obsession now is about winning elections by hook or crook. Mahmud Yakubu is still seating as INEC head appointing partisan RECs for APC while the NASS is not even concerned with deepening electoral reforms especially the IREV portal legality 2 years to another election cycle. |

id4sho: Chaii.. I understand how it feels. I nearly gave up many times.. But each time, I give myself some small reasons for me to still keep pushing.. Maybe, one of these days,, I may truly get tired of Nigeria.. But for now,, in my own little ways,, I am still giving myself reasons not to get tired.. . Some people think I am a fool for not doing what others are doing,, and they also blame me for not gaining hugely from the evils in the system., even when I am placed in a good position where I can have access to a lot of opportunities for anything I could ever wish for. But then, if we all become evil, who then would be the ones to keep things actually running properly?? 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: App/Software Idea: A Citizens Powered E-collation Platform For Election Results. by BluntCrazeMan: 6:39am On Mar 15 |
Racoon: This has nothing to do with NASS.. This is just going to be a private online product that would guide the General Public to instantly judge the results that were released by the INEC.. It won't replace the INEC Results in any way. NASS can always make the laws that guide the conduct of the INEC and the Political Parties.. All their obsession now is about winning elections by hook or crook. Mahmud Yakubu is still seating as INEC head appointing partisan RECs for APC while the NASS is not even concerned with deepening electoral reforms especially the IREV portal legality -- 2 years to another election cycle. About the INEC’s IREV-Portal,, I am still observing it. I am still looking deeply into it. But then, let the Edo State Tribunal be concluded first.. Then we know where else to go from there.!! 1 Like 2 Shares |

BluntCrazeMan: You are both entitled and constrained by your opinion. The holistic view of your app makes no sense because it can be manipulated and hijacked.... depending on who funds it or who enters the figures into it. There are more elections in Nigeria than eyes can meet. ...I wonder if you have any robust cognitive experience in coordinating national voting in the country .... It is simple to use this type of app for elections in developed countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and others. Regarding cyber-attacks...Do you know how many cyber attacks some of the Inec database used to experience during the election period.....do you have enough capacity to withstand such capacity to defend such expertise cyber manipulation....for me, this is a distraction...because, as you have opined...it is free and open to the public.... even those companies who spend a lot of money to defend their IT work space still lose it to some sophisticated attackers... viable IT space is not cheap...so don't distract the public with your pseudo-app |

bmaster2000: Ok.. I now understand you.. You're talking from the standpoint of a typical Nigerian.. But I need to let you know that the developers of the App/Software took a lot of things into consideration. |

BluntCrazeMan:I see your passion for a better election outcome in Nigeria. But I just want to tell you that if the legal framework backing elections in Nigeria is not reworked in such a way that there is no loophole for the criminals in power to exploit, then we will be wasting our time. For now, I’m just looking at opposition lawmakers to see when and what they intend to come up with as regards Electoral Reform. 1 Like 1 Share |

Bobloco: I'm actually seriously fighting myself from getting depressed because of our Nigerian Elections. To be sincere with you,, the fact that it always seems that there is absolutely nothing which anybody can do about the Electoral Malpractices and open-eyed Electoral Fraud they always commit gets me sick every time I think of it. |
Re: App/Software Idea: A Citizens Powered E-collation Platform For Election Results. by Penguin2: 12:10am On Mar 16 |
BluntCrazeMan:No, don’t. I feel they are bidding their time. You know the demand for Electoral Reform will heat up the polity and I feel the opposition wants to give Tinubu two years to govern after Supreme Court gave him legitimacy. I might be wrong but I see a lot changing after May 29th this year when Tinubu shall have celebrated 2 years in office. There’s going to coordinated action of the opposition towards getting both Electoral Reform and other things. 1 Like |

Penguin2: Tinubu is waiting to milk the flawed electoral laws again.. And that means, he will do anything for the reforms not to be signed it into law now.. .. This now leaves us with the flawed electoral laws,, and it still means that whatever they throw at us, that is what we have to go with. And there is no way for us to challenge them by saying that: “Yes,, they cheated and we know what we are saying” -- just because we don't have any strong evidence to back ourselves up with. |

Re: App/Software Idea: A Citizens Powered E-collation Platform For Election Results. by Penguin2: 10:36am On Mar 16 |
BluntCrazeMan:The citizenry will be mobilized against that. No sane Nigerian would go to queue and vote in 2027 with this same Electoral Law. When the demand will start, Tinubu’s hands will be too forced until he has no option than to give in. This country is too big to be his playground. |
Re: App/Software Idea: A Citizens Powered E-collation Platform For Election Results. by Xisnin(m): 12:24pm On Mar 16 |
BluntCrazeMan:This is just another "pressure group" action which has proven to be utterly useless when it comes to the issue of political power. Moreover, if it improbably has significant impact, the major parties will just launch their own app version the next election cycle using the ever willing mushroom groups that litter the political space. Nothing outside of mandated electronic upload and live tallying inserted into the electoral act can make a difference. I understand the need to do "something" now but the impact in my opinion will be at most to demonstrate that it could one day be officially replicated. Though some countries already had the system for decades and should have served as inspiration to the government. Given that no sitting president will sign their own electoral loss because electoral integrity will make it easy to vote out incompetent leaders. 1 Like |
