Honestly, this your post has even motivated some people who were in doubt of Japa, if your earning in a week can carter for you expenses in a Month, what else do you need?

The only take home is that Japa is best when one is still single.

Or you move first, get settled in and bring in your family later.

What do u mean by the word minimum wage. Travel is part of education so its good you have one.

Secondly i pay 1030 pounds for health insurance each year for each person in my household. We are 4 in numbers.

And how much do you save? Or go back to Nigeria if you're not happy undecided

So the reason you dont have a driving licence is because you have been too much of a chicken to take the test not because you are mandated to wait 5months after each test as you seem to suggest.

This is what you should have said rather than misleading people.

And yes, I hate mediocrity, hence the angry post.

No my brother. U are the one misleading people and saying u got driving test done thrice a month. While i might not argue with u on that i just pointed to u that u can't book multiple times for test. Its not done anywhere

OP your username looks familiar. Were you not the guy that newly relocated to the UK that was looking for a job few months ago?

Well written bro. But you are still new in the UK. I bet you are not more than 1-2 years in the UK. I understand your write up. It's mainly for those that think going abroad will make them rich. Those types are after the money. Pansophist can attest to this.

But people like us, we are after a society that works. A sane society that rewards hard work. We are not after the money factor side of Japa as many others always portray.

Thanks for the write up. But brother, a lot of people are suffering in Nigeria. The system is corrupt. And if you are not corrupt, you can't make it in Nigeria.

Those people that always hammering on if you have 30M. How many Nigerians have 1 million naira in their accounts?

So, you see? You are in a sane society. Be thankful for that. Many Nigerians are broke and the leaders are doing everything possible to keep the masses broke forever. It's not easy here brother.

In all, we understand your stand. But trust me, Nigeria has no hope of becoming better any time soon. So, those that want a sane society to reside, they shouldn't look back.

If Nigeria is a good country, I believe you yourself won't even bother traveling to the UK. It's because you already see that your life and that of children are not safe, that's why you Japa, not really for the money.

Besides, nice write up.

Yes, I lived in UK for years. Your pay is still low, I know most newcomers earn this range of pay for couple of years, try to upgrade yourself, get a side hustle online if possible.

I studied in Sheffield, worked actross uk especially in the South, northern ireland, west Midlands and Ireland accross the border.

My lowest pay after 3years in uk was £37-£40 per h highest ever was £47. I had colleagues that were earning £12 all through these years because they fail to updgrade themselves, find opportunities and unwilling to move.

UK is not as it is used to be but there are still opportunities if you open your eyes.

Below are some of the opportunities i took amd moved. It will get better. Safe.

Thank God person no read this kind scary epistle when planning to jet out of that country, because na this kind they scare people 😳, but at thesame time it helps us to rethink and research about the countries before making final decision on where to settle.

Yes bro thanks.

I have heard about this. They earn madly.

How long did it take u to learn it. Any experience from Nigeria?

I have always sounded it loud here for persons wey get ear to hear.
Even to my friends here, I keep telling them to go into this.
Some company have apprenticeship program were they employ you, train you, even with zero experience
At most it takes you not more than 6 months to learn the basics skills, then you do the rest yourself, by watching bunch of YouTube videos and readings training materials

How does one become hvac tech and get job with no experience. I would appreciate a reply for my cuz who just landed on assylum. I heard training and apprenticeship is expensive though

Some company advertise for apprenticeship program, where they employ you, pay you and train you. I mean, in the US. I don't know how other countries dey do.
But if you are smart learner, it won't take you more than 4 months to learn the basics, the rest you read up yourself or watch YouTube videos.

This is the quality of life OP keeps hammering on. Someone who lived in a big house in Nigeria will now have to share apartments, especially at an older age. It does not make sense to me. Standard of living must be maintained in both locations. That should be the goal.

Anti-japa clue, I hail your kingdom. Pansophist will be so proud of you, trust me.

Don't borrow to travel o. What if you don't eventually get the visa? Initially, I was sponsored by my parents (hard cash. Nothing was sold). Later, I got three scholarships. I lived in the school hostel where electricity, water, WiFi and gas were free and use as you like. I used the school bus. I got a job with a MNC five months before graduation. I literally lived like a king and was pampered.

A scholarship is the best route to enjoy postgraduate studies in the current naira dispensation. I will advise you learn a lucrative skill or go into agric trading. I see people - literally the typical Nigerians - make millions from doing it. You start small. That's how life is - you build from the ground not from the top.

If he was truly an assistant branch manager, then he's mad for relocating to the UK to work in care. The talk about his yearly earnings are baseless since his expenses are in pounds. He earns in pounds and spends in pounds. His STANDARD OF LIVING was way higher in Nigeria as an ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER not as a SUPPORT CARE WORKER.

Assistant branch manager is a portfolio. It is not a level that directly impacts your salary. So when people say, my sister was a branch manager, my cousin was this, I just know either they know nothing of banking or they just want to exaggerate the position of their loved one.

As an ET, I was an "asst branch manager" because it is for Sales staff and my boss and I were the only core staff. If I had japa'd to do care work, someone will na be on NL telling people I was an asst branch manager ba?😂 Does he or she know my actual level and monthly pay?

That said, I know many core staff that japa'd to do care work.
