Who Is Our Enemy, The Common Man Or Thieving Government? by scribble: 4:08pm On Jan 02, 2012 |
I was headed to Araba's near Yaba and I saw a crowd swarming near a gutter, the crowd consisted of mostly Okada men and some youth that had been playing soccer. Some women watched from a distance. I drove closer and saw a man near the gutter, bleeding from the head and face, and I parked to see what had been happening, if the guy needed medical attention etc. The crowd was chuckling and laughing and calling him a thief. Further inquiries led me to learn, he had stolen an okada and deserved the jungle justice. I asked the crowd to leave him alone and let him be since he had already suffered enough. The man could not speak and was shaking, he had been beaten into the gutter, and his head and body wounds were obviously soon-to-be infected. He had been beaten into shock, planked in the head etc. There were about 30-50 able bodied men present. After some stern faced pleading, they let the guy go, he could barely walk. I then asked the crowd, why they would be beating this man instead of taking their protests to the filling stations in the neoghborhood that were selling fuel at close to N 150. They told me that its not like that, that they were afraid of government. When I asked why they do not beat thieving politicians like this and instead hail them and egg them on, they said politicians have strong medicine. A lot of these guys were illiterate, Nigerians pour out their frustrations on the common man, whilst our real enemy, the thieving political elite, go scot free. I predict that there will be increase in crime, murder etc as a result of this fuel hike. I do not see any real protests happening as a result of the ike. Nigerians are lazy and selfish and would rather #occupykfc #occupysilverbird #occupyshoprite #occupybrothels #occupyfemalehostels #occupyRehab #occupyautolounge and etc etc |
