The Conquest Of Mecca by AbuAbdirrahmaan: 11:43pm On Mar 19 |
"When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, and you see the people entering into the religion of Allah in multitudes, then glorify the praises of your Lord and seek His forgiveness; indeed, He is ever accepting of repentance." (Quran 110:1-3) 📌 1️⃣ The Greatest Victory On the 19th of Ramadan, 8 AH, the Conquest of Mecca took place. It was a defining moment where Allah honored Islam, His Messenger, and the believers. With this victory, people entered Islam in crowds, and the face of the earth shone with faith and light. 📌 2️⃣ The Treaty Broken After the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, Quraysh violated their agreement by aiding Banu Bakr against the Prophet’s allies. Realizing their mistake, they sent Abu Sufyan to renew the treaty, but the Prophet ﷺ did not accept. 📌 3️⃣ A Grand Army Marches The Prophet ﷺ commanded his companions to prepare silently, leading 10,000 believers toward Mecca. He prayed, "O Allah, conceal our movement from Quraysh." Their entry was strategic and peaceful, ensuring minimal bloodshed. 📌 4️⃣ A Merciful Conquest When the Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca, he recited: "Truth has arrived, and falsehood has perished; for falsehood is bound to perish." (Quran 17:81) He destroyed 360 idols around the Kaaba and proclaimed the oneness of Allah. 📌 5️⃣ The Moment of Forgiveness Quraysh, fearing retribution, stood before the Prophet ﷺ. Instead of revenge, he forgave them all, saying: "No reproach upon you today; Allah will forgive you." (Quran 12:92) Thus, Islam entered Mecca with peace, not bloodshed. 📌 6️⃣ A Lesson for Us This conquest teaches humility in victory, mercy in power, and unwavering faith in Allah’s promise. The Prophet ﷺ could have taken revenge, but he chose forgiveness and unity, setting an eternal example of compassion and leadership. May Allah grant us humility, wisdom, and steadfastness, may He forgive us and our parents and may we conquer our own struggles with patience and faith. Aameen. 🤲 |

“Then they surrendered, and the apostle (Muhammed) confined them in Medina in the quarter of d. al-Harith, a woman of B. al-Najjar. Then the apostle went out to the market of Medina (which is still its market today) and dug trenches in it. Then he sent for them and struck off their heads in those trenches as they were brought out to him in batches. Among them was the enemy of Allah Huyayy b. Akhtab and Ka`b b. Asad their chief. There were 600 or 700 in all, though some put the figure as high as 800 or 900. As they were being taken out in batches to the apostle they asked Ka`b what he thought would be done with them. He replied, "Will you never understand? Don't you see that the summoner never stops and those who are taken away do not return? By Allah it is death!" Ibn Isḥaq wrote several works. His major work is al-Mubtadaʾ wa al-Baʿth wa al-Maghāzī—the Kitab al-Mubtada and Kitab al-Mab'ath both survive in part, particularly al-Mab'ath, in ibn Hisham and al-Mubtada otherwise in substantial fragments
