Rivers: ‘where Is Your Evidence’ – NLC Challenges Nweke Over Political Bias Alle by ogododo: 2:09pm On Mar 29
The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Rivers State Chapter, has dismissed allegations by former Rivers State Head of Service, George Nweke, who claimed that the union was becoming politicized.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the NLC described Nweke’s claims as baseless and misleading, asserting that the union remains a non-partisan organization dedicated to workers’ welfare with no political affiliations.

The union also refuted allegations that its State Chairman, Alex Agwanwor, had held private meetings with the Governor and received financial inducements.

It labeled the claims as defamatory, emphasizing that its leadership operates ethically and only engages with the government on legitimate labour matters.

Reaffirming its commitment to good governance, stability, and the rule of law, the NLC challenged Nweke to provide credible evidence of any wrongdoing rather than making unverified public accusations.

The union further clarified that its stance on the state of emergency in Rivers State is driven by facts and workers’ interests rather than political considerations.

It stressed that workers’ welfare must remain a priority over political conflicts.

The NLC called on Nweke and other political figures to refrain from dragging the Labour movement into political disputes.

It reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to protecting workers’ rights and maintaining its independence from external pressures.

The statement reads in full:

“The attention of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Rivers State Chapter, has been drawn to the recent press statement by Dr. George Nweke, the former Head of Service of Rivers State. While we acknowledge his right to express his opinions, we must categorically reject the baseless and misleading allegations made against the leadership of the NLC and Labour in general.

Labour’s Commitment to Impartiality and Workers’ Welfare

The NLC is a non-partisan organization that remains dedicated to defending the rights and interests of workers in Rivers State and across Nigeria. It is highly irresponsible and mischievous for Dr. Nweke to insinuate that the leadership of Labour in Rivers State has been compromised or is engaging in political partisanship. The NLC, under the leadership of its State Chairman, has at all times acted in the best interest of workers without undue political influence. The Labour movement is driven by principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability, and we will not allow our integrity to be tarnished by baseless accusations.

“Dr. Nweke’s claim that the NLC Chairman has been holding private meetings with the Governor and receiving financial inducements is outright false and defamatory. Such allegations are nothing more than an attempt to discredit the Labour movement and divert attention from the real issues affecting the state. The NLC leadership in Rivers State operates in full compliance with ethical standards and has consistently engaged with the government on legitimate labour matters, including workers’ welfare, salary payments, and improved working conditions.

“The NLC is an advocate for good governance, stability, and the rule of law. It is, therefore, disheartening that Dr. Nweke has chosen to malign the Labour movement by suggesting that it is being used for political maneuvering. If he has any credible evidence of wrongdoing, we challenge him to present it to the appropriate authorities rather than resort to unsubstantiated public statements aimed at inciting discord.

“The declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State is a matter of national discourse, and the NLC, like all stakeholders, has the right to express its position based on facts and the impact on workers. The Labour movement will always stand against any action that undermines the democratic rights of the people or leads to instability that affects workers and the general populace. Our position on this matter remains clear: the welfare of the workers and the citizens of Rivers State must be prioritized above political interests.

“We urge Dr. Nweke and other political actors to refrain from dragging the NLC and its leadership into their political battles. The NLC will not be intimidated or coerced into taking sides in political disputes. Our primary responsibility is to the workers, and we will continue to champion their cause with integrity and accountability.”

Now the civil service body is challenging the clueless bribed ex hos here, at the end, the clueless propagandist ex hos will regret his actions of blackmailing Governor Fubara and his government. Media lies and propaganda will never yield any results here. Infact wike that gave you the scripts here will turned his back to you when he sees that your mission failed woefully at the end.

I think there is more to what SIM is hiding and he is scared of being exposed.
If u watch the video of SIM talking to Nwaeke's wife, you will notice something isn't right.

SIM was not bothered about what the woman was saying that her husband is under duress, he didn't believe that the man was under duress even when there are evidence that should have pointed to that, he even asked her if she was sure the man is under duress.
If SIM was clean, he would have want to look for a way to save Nwaeke but he was more bothered about why the man was spoiling his name after all what he has done for their family

Tinubu really want to burn down Rivers state at all cost; all because of 2027.

Rivers state people kind of brought this upon Rivers state when they remained silent after Nyesome Wike brazenly upturned their vote for Peter Obi in favour of Tinubu before their eyes just to curry favour from Tinubu, which is one of the reasons Tinubu won and reason they are bent on repeating same in 2027.

In this life, when you see evil or when someone does evil against you, don't keep quiet in the name of wanting peace to reign, speak up, scream, shout and fight against that evil because evil doers don't stop, instead they become more dangerous and brutal when they succeed in their first evil and get away with it. That's exactly what is happening to Nyesome Wike and Bola Tinubu

PDP and Idiotic Fubara played into the hands of Tinubu grin

Rivers state have been the biggest sponsor of PDP and APC have been looking for a way to get into the state for years but now with a political wizard like Tinubu it is possible even if it wasn't through direct way like winning state through election it still work the same way, the goal is to have access to Rivers Treasury. All because of a low IQ governor like Fubara, even a political dullard should be able to see that move from afar.

Now before the 6 months end Tinubu will install all APC machinery in the state for next election in fact the chance of Fubara coming back is not that high, Tinubu is still looking for a way to get rid of him totally, Tinubu wish Fubara can cause more trouble so that he can lock him up and throw the key away because if he is the one causing trouble he wouldn't have to make up another excuse to nail him.

It may seem like only Wike is fighting Fubara but the chaos Wike caused in Rivers state would benefit Tinubu because Tinubu already have interest in the state and its Treasury just like Russia have eyes on UKRAINE cheesy

That Nweke is an unfortunate person. How can a man be this old without wisdom? He fails to understand that political game is a deadly game. A man as old as this even up to the post of HOS is such a foolish person. You are supporting a cunning and dubious person in person of Wike. Wike that knows nobody. Even tomorrow when power is out of Tinubu, he will still align with anyone and jettison Tinubu. This man will surely suffer for this misguided behaviour.

When all these is played to him in later months, he will feel like commiting suicide cos he has ruined d brighter future of his generation in just one week.

He can win without Rivers State. I strongly believe he wants access to the state's resources. He's targeting all the Niger Deltan States for this reason. Bayelsa is next.
