There are federal lines in the SE and federal ports in SS. The SE governors have been lazy; they should start copying what Lagos has been doing and integrating state infrastructures into federal infrastructure.

Kudos to Soludo, a brilliant CBN governor who is now about to be a brilliant state governor.

Rather than lay emphasis on the initiator of the project, the sitting governor I think we should focus on the project itself, to laud it's potentials and support it's actualization, only then can it stand a chance of coming to pass.

In this part of the world we often elevate individuals above everything else. In politics and governance this is the leading cause of uncompleted projects, truncated visions and short term solutions.

We all know this project cannot be actualized in one political tenure so it is better not to nameplate it until completed or risk having it sidelined when the next leader ego trips away. Let us reserve our praises to posterity.

Any mention of where the funds are coming from and the funding model they intend to use?

Before any south-east state embarks on a project such as intra-state rail, or before the states in the south-east consider a regional rail network, i think they should have first considered establishing a steel industry…either owned by a state or owned collectively as a region. Building a rail network would require a lot of steel, and it doesn’t make sense to include that in the things to be imported for the project when the raw materials and expertise for steel production are available locally. This would reduce the cost of the project, and i’m sure if we check well there’d be diaspora Igbo capable of contributing their skills and experience towards the project which could reduce the cost even further!

There are lots of steel companies in the East capable to making them by some Chinese, indians and individuals

Imo and Ebonyi carrying lasts again. Two APC states in the southeast.
