Niger Delta Group Warns Finance Minister, Okonjo-iweala Against Misleading Gej by aljharem3: 6:28pm On Jan 04, 2012
Please, my honorable, you and your honorables should not make Nigerian masses to pay for the corrupt leadership in the nation. Please, your recommendation/suggestions to the nation should be that Mr. President through the Attorney-General of the Federation/law enforcement agencies call to order his subordinates (the Federal governments, the States government, the Local governments, etc.) about looting of the national treasury, and those that looted the national treasury in the past should be prosecuted and punished. The financial recklessness and endemic corruption of the stakeholders hinders the nation’s growth, and the poor masses should not pay for it. My honorable, your recommendation/suggestions for the way forward to actualize social and economic developments in the nation – to the National Stakeholders, Western Nations and African Nations should be, to help Nigerians recover the looted national treasure.

The so call fuel subsidy should not be removed on the expense of the poor masses; rather the corrupt Nigerian individuals have to pay for the national mess through their nose. As noted, Nigeria refineries are nonfunctional, and this should be your recommendation/suggestions as a top priority to make the infrastructures functional. For example, seven years after the administration of the so call corrupt former President Olusegun Obasanjo licensed some private operators to set up 18 refineries in Nigeria, none of the projects has fully taken off. What a shame!! Please, madam, your recommendation/suggestions to Mr. President is to take his Job seriously.

My honorable, impediment that hampers the chances of economic developments in the Nation is lack of quality management and leadership skills among the stakeholders or those in decision making positions. As of date in Nigeria, some of the stakeholders lack commitment, vision or foresight, technical and business knowledge to do their assigned job.

Most projects (the hydroelectric dams, the refineries, the coal plants and the railway system, the iron and steel industry, etc.) in Nigeria failed due to poor human resource planning and management.

Finally, my honorable, do not make any recommendation/suggestions that will make the masses to suffer more than what they are suffering now. It may cause a national revolution. Thanks for your understanding, good luck and remain blessed.

Dr. Chukwuma O. Nwaonicha, Director, Niger Delta International Initiative (NDII).
