5 Beautiful Nigerian Cities You Can Move To When Relocating From Lagos by NewDigitalWorld: 11:00am On Apr 07
Let's be real; Lagos is often the first city that comes to mind when people think of Nigeria. Its towering skyline, pulsating energy, and loads of opportunity make it a popular choice for most people looking for a new environment in Kaduna.

Meanwhile, the cost of living, unbearable traffic, and often chaotic pace can easily take a toll on anybody. So we understand if you think life here is too fast-paced for you and want to leave. But the question is, where to?

Lagos offers so many opportunities that it can be difficult to decide where to move. Don't worry; I've got you covered.

Here are five beautiful Nigerian cities you can think of moving to when leaving the country's commercial center.

Abuja

You didn't expect me to start from any other place than the nation's capital, did you? It doubles as the fastest-growing city in the country, so why not? Long known for its stunning landscapes, greenery, and really good roads, Abuja is the place for a quiet and more reserved lifestyle.

Of course, its many attractions are a draw for fun lovers, although the downside here is the cost of living, which is quite similar to what's obtainable in Lagos.

Ibadan

Despite being so close to a fast-paced Lagos, Ibadan is surprisingly quiet. It's the third most populous Nigerian state, but you'll be surprised by its calm demeanor. Not to mention that it is spacious, affordable, and culturally rich. It may be known for its conservative vibe, but it's still a nice place for business people to enjoy their hustle away from the pressure of Lagos.

The cost of living here is also significantly lower than in Lagos, so you'll definitely have better savings. However, you can almost kiss goodbye the nightlife that Lagos is known for.

Port Harcourt

You'd be surprised if the oil-rich giant doesn't make my list, won't you? If you're in oil and gas or the engineering sector, Port Harcourt is still the hotbed of opportunities. It may not be as busy as Lagos, but its strong professional network makes it an exciting option for ambitious people.

Again, the cost of living here can get significantly high, depending on where you're staying, but what do you expect for a city with many opportunities? It has a vibrant nightlife, although you may want to choose a more secure neighborhood when moving here.

Enugu

Let's move a bit to the Eastern part of Nigeria. Often referred to as the Coal City with a class, Enugu offers movers a clean, charming, and surprisingly modern environment. If you're looking for a peaceful and progressive hub, often perfect for creatives and young families, Enugu is the place to move to.

Its clean environment and good road network are what you need to think better. The cost of living is also significantly lower than Lagos's, although there are fewer high-end jobs.

Uyo

If you prioritise a clean city with friendly locals when searching for a place to live, you should definitely visit Uyo. This city, located in the southern part of Nigeria, is fast becoming the favourite option for young professionals looking for a good quality of life without the urban noise.

Although it's not as bustling as most major cities, it still offers enough to keep you occupied on boring days.

Tell us which of these cities catches your fancy and why you'd love to move there.

Let's be real, Lagos should be the last place for one who thinks of growing or developing with a sane mind... cheesy
, so chaotic with rundown infrastructure but the Nigerian media and ronu miscreants won't let you breathe if you talk against their heaven grin

The fortunate thing is, other cities are now changing their infrastructures rapidly to advanced and cutting edge ones, like in Enugu which has almost the same ambience as Abuja and even more urbane than Abuja with its literate inhabitants.

Ibadan people want their city removed from the list.

You think people want others relocating there causing traffick and a strain on infrastructure?

Even Abuja people dont want Lagos people coming over

Please remove Enugu from that list, Enugu doesn’t have water, insecurity is high, poverty is high, unemployment is very high, so much slums, I can go on and on. There’s nothing in Enugu.

My own is why no single Nigeria city has good landscape. I used to wonder how Europeans built those high rise buildings that are still standing for centuries. I saw one building in Barcelona. A massive building that cover a whole street. Long and tall. Omohh. I give it to oyinbo abeg

Enugu should top your list if anyone wants to move to a city where you will regain your mental health.

Abuja- The cost of living is high with serious threats of religious crisis

PH- Highly occultic city with possibility of getting involved in strong violence. Also costly

Ibadan - Very dirty and lots of diabolical people who may impact your spiritual lives. Ritualism also high

Uyo- Very clean and neat but economy almost zero

Enugu- Very clean, no upper and lower class, everyone rolls on same tempo. A very rich guy can be eating okpa at roadside. Economy not too bad. Accomodating people. Night life. Pretty ladies that are not spoilt like what you have in Lagos. Nobody in a hurry. Many people ready to assist you and you have lots of people to gist with. Zero violence. Kidnapping only happens outside the city as CCTV cameras are everywhere. Even the water problem happen the last two months of dry season and tankers always there to help.

Life is simple and sweet in ENUGU my brother

If you are a remote worker especially, relocate to Uyo. It's:

1. Safer and more secure than most cities. The safest in Nigeria for years. It's cleaner too.

2. It has better road networks and good inter-city and street roads so you're never stuck in traffic.

3. It's a tourist city, 1 hour drive from the Atlantic coast of Eket, Ibeno and Ikot Abasi, 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Port Harcourt. 2 hours drive from Aba.

4. Several parts of Uyo enjoy 20 hours of power supply daily. Don't take my word for it: Confirm yourself.

5. Uyo is third only to Lagos and Abuja for tech talents. Every weekend there's a tech event and tech workstations all over to network and work.

I could go on and on. It's a no-brainer if you want a serene environment.

U see Enugu ehh...
It's on different level and class.
If u are relocating for holiday then pick Enugu and Abuja.
But if its to hustle...Lagos is twice all of them.
Uyo is good too. PH is better.
But u see that red roof zone...I no dey even understand them.

Remove Port Harcourt from that list undecided
A new comer to Rivers State/Port Harcourt will find it very hard, especially the different cult groups operating openly.

Abuja, PH, Ibadan , Onitsha, Warri, Kano , these are cities you can equally make money. Places like Enugu or Uyo are places you can’t make money.
