All these are nonesense. The government should hands off completely and remove their hands from the sector. Until when you do,all these wont do a thing. You are just beating around the bush and nothing else Period! 22 Likes 2 Shares |

zero8zero: No be today I have been calling for government to hands off the power sector. Nobody will complain if you are getting value for what you are paying for. But you cannot be giving me darkness and telling me to pay exhorbitant fees. Sorry it doesnt work that way. Did the.government not hands off telecommunications? Is it not working? Did someone not say telephone isnt for the poor? Isnt it now for everybody? Having power should be basic right for the average Nigerian. Countries wey no reach us don solve their power problem, but here it is still a very very big deal yet we keep on bringing excuses 30 Likes 5 Shares |

happney65: Spot on bro. Their inefficiency is so glaring. I used to have a grudge against Atiku's privatisation push but now that I am older, I couldn't wish for anything more. There is no entity the government manages better, compared to private individuals. zero8zero: Sergio Ramos, try dey rest. Electric Meters costs #150k now for a single phase meter. Has that stopped people from going for it over the useless estimated billing used to rip people off? It is still their inefficiency stalling the distribution process of the meters. 2 Likes |

Individual can now generate power or go into the power business as long as your capital can generate up to 100mw. I don't support APC but to be honest, that was one of the first thing Tinubu did when he resumed office, It was every where in the news, If we now see anyone with such capital and FG didn't grant the person the license then that will be a different case... but besides that's what davido's father does. We just don't have serious people in this country , all this money na water gang building hotels everywhere, why can't they combine capital and build power for their people just like davido's father is doing in osun state. happney65: 5 Likes |

Government should transparently sell and hands off electricity generation, transmission and distribution to private sector and setup a strong regulatory agency to make sure they play by the rules, pricing and all just like they did to telecoms. The present setting cannot work to guarantee light to the people due to sharp practices and because of the belief that government property is nobodies property. 1 Like |

AfahaAbia: Or is it a deliberate tactic to keep the country backwards? If there is 20hrs daily supply across the nation for just one month, can you calculate the adverse effects on the sales of petrol marketers and filling stations? So you know they are not just serious, toying with the masses. Look at that man the mob killed. He killed someone in a fight because he was frustrated that he lost two kids after they stopped paying their salaries since last year. That is 4 lives lost directly over that issue of non payment of salaries. The dark continent smh 1 Like |

AfahaAbia:Don't comment on what you don't know. The distribution and the generation arms of the former NEPA were privatized. Some private Gencos today includes: Geregu power, owned by Adeleke, Davido's father. There is also Transcorp power owned by Tony Elumelu. Others are Egbin power, Shiroro power and so on. 3 Likes 1 Share |
