Embrace your identity. Whenever we see trashy comments here, we just know that you and your Ibo brothers are behind it.

According to what's on Twitter they had travelled there early this year so they thought nothing should happen

My Brother I have traveled far and wide.
There are countries in Europe, Middle East and Asia, the moment they see a Nigeria passport they become apprehensive and tense.
They will be on red alert on you
They will want you out of their country the next minute.
In 2005, I boarded an Air Afrique Airline to Egypt, I will never forget how they treated me and delayed me in the Cairo international airport all because I was carrying a Nigerian passport.
Do fact check before going to some countries with a Nigerian passport.

They are free! They’ve passed through the Dakar border and are now in the care of the Nigerian embassy in Senegal,” an X user, @tobiojenike, who raised the issue earlier, announced in a post on Wednesday. The tourists — David James Udoh, Lily Dada, Oghenero Adaware, Sherifat Abimbola Ogundairo, Jesutomi Aina — and a representative from the travel agency Ìrìn Travels, had travelled from Senegal to Cape Verde for a vacation when they were detained by Cape Verdean immigration authorities.

I can assure you that Cape Verde officials didn't just pull out 6 Nigerians and accused them of human trafficking. And I can also tell that those 6 Nigerians are not human traffickers.

They probably did all that just to punish them (probably for misdemeanour) and deport them back to wherever they came from. The story about the other lady playing a part to enable her secure access to greener pastures is a cock and bull story. Na Cape Verde be the greener pasture?

Now know this... Nobody rates Nigerians around all these West African countries... Once you can't even communicate with them in French, Waloof, Portuguese or whatever language that they speak, your frustration becomes double.

On a road trip from Burkina Faso to Bamako, we were stopped by immigration officials for a stop and search, they asked us to make some payments before they allow us proceed, one of the ladies (Nigerian) pulled out her phone and started recording.

One of the immigration officers saw her and she was arrested. Although she was released the next day after intervention from Nigeria authorities, but I doubt if she'd ever forget that experience. Omoh. Within ten minutes, handcuffs, van, siren and pheeem detention center.

As for the living expenses story... You can enter Cape Verde with just $200 as living expenses and nobody will stop you at the airport.

Thank God that they've been released sha. Nigerians should learn to calm down whenever we find ourselves in other people's territories... We're always seen as threats and our behaviour out there isn't helping matter too.
U for knock dat woman for head as she bring out d camera to record doze please

ECOWAS is as good as dead. Have you seen how Nigeria flagrantly disregards ECOWAS Court orders?

Upon arrival in Cape Verde, they were pulled out of the queue, accused of not having enough funds, and had their phones confiscated. They were subsequently detained at an immigration deportation camp at the airport,” the statement continued.

Exactly what I thought was the issue
The image of Nigeria is so laundered that if you arrive at cape Verde and say you on vacation and they find that you don't have the funds.
Trouble

I looked at their names.

Thank God they are Yorubas and it’s obvious it’s not a case of drug trafficking.

We blame the animals who have painted our image black globally by their crime culture .

Nigerians are now seen as criminals globally because of the animals from a particular region

Thank God no verde capean organ is missing. Our Afo nja brothers for tarnish our image 😆😆😆 Meanwhile, the real drug lord is from ur region. I no call name o 😂

I am not a supporter of the failure called Tinubu but truth be told. It is not Nigerian government putting Nigeria to shame. It is Nigerians themselves and without bigotry, it is mostly Igbo tribe.
Yes, I know truth is bitter but if you are a traveller and a sincere Nigerian, tribe or no tribe, you will agree with me.
The menace of the Igbo tribe worldwide is alarming. Right from Cotonou JohnK area to Togo, Ghana, Burkina, Mali, Gambia, Senegal, they are there soiling the name of Nigeria.

I know this is painful to hear but it is nothing but the truth.

Cape Verdians are allergic to NIGERIANS.
They see every Nigeria person as a drug trafficker and a internet fraudster.
Do your fact check before traveling to some certain isolated countries.
Many do not like NIGERIANS.
Do not blame them.
Blame those who spoilt the name and image of Nigeria in the Global space.
Wishing they arrive Nigeria safe.

That's why I pity those using Nigerian passport
