Banky says he has put a halt on releasing any new materials including singles and videos until ‘things start to look better’…

Nigerian R&B singer and EME boss Banky W has pushed back the release of his new album in support of the ongoing nationwide strike.

Mr W was scheduled to release his fourth album ‘R&BW‘ on Valentine’s Day Tuesday, February 14, 2012. But he says he has put a halt on releasing any new materials including singles and videos until ‘things start to look better’.

‘In other news, #R&BW won’t be coming out on Feb 14th. I’ve suspended promoting/putting out new music until after things in 9ja settle down‘, @Bankyw tweeted.

‘Will drop singles and a video after things start to look better, but no more movement on #R&BW music. Some things r more important right now‘, he continued.

Banky W had marched along with protesters on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from Maryland to the Gani Fawehinmi Park in support of the Occupy Nigeria protest.

Even while he travels, he's occupying. He attended Occupy Nigeria protests in New York yesterday. He's great.

Great musicians, passed on great messages to educate, build and transform the mind of the young generation positively. they use their music and lifestyle to provide a guide to the young generation. there by helping to build their country and the world a better place.


what has Banky W done, does his music help build our young ones up, what positive part does he play in the nation building, or is he waiting for government to come write lyrics for him first.

A Vals day release means promotions et al have to start from Jan and he probably knows it wont work well (no one will send) due to the recent brouhaha going on around the country.

So it has nothing to do with occupying as some of you have already concluded.

how does his music affect the common man. the guy is a typical nigerian who wants us to believe that he cares abt naija. if gej calls him to abj to collect some cash ,he wouldnt even think twice. na today? the worse thing is that all of us believe he is one of a kind . we too dey believe . Well sha,na d same nigerians trusted NLC.we were singing the praises of nlc until they f.orked us up. 99% of nigerians are pretenders.

kudos to d guy.In a country as corrupt as nigeria,where no questions are asked as per sources of wealth& where being against govt is suicidal to ur economic& social wellbeing,particularly for a showbiz personality,an artiste who is made,in his own right, dares to openly confront a govt policy;it can only be heroic.
Banky,kp it up,d road ahead may be challenging,but u will surely reap d reward.Evn if I don't get to listen or watch ur song,I will surely get one whenever u decide to release ur album
