What Businesses To Start After The Strike. by cj1080(m): 3:06pm On Jan 16, 2012 |
Hello House. Name‘s Cj. Basically i‘ve been watching the trends of thing i. the country since th annonced the removal of fuel subsidy and from what i‘ve seen i have been able to develop a trend i feel will start to happen as prices of products will adjust to suit the new pump price. Already we are seeing raises in basic amenities like what an food, rhat tells me a lot on whats to come. It also tells me there are opportunities within this new situation to not only help make things easy for the average nigerian, eg me. But opportunities for the average business man as well. Consider the now expensive bag of pure water. Does really have to be expensive or can‘t ways be found to reduce the content but still provide it at the same price as before, eg small satchets. Or the basic food ingrediebts like tomatoes, onion, pepper, soup ingredients, egusi, vegetable and palm oil. Can‘t the be sold in half satchets or a litre of palm oil or veg oil in a sealed small purewate nylon. Equsi grounded in a mini gino tin, a blend of tomatoes and pepper in a satchet. Because current trend might dictate that some or most nigerians might go for more compact readly available meals or cheap food ingredient with a bit more quantity. I‘m just bearing my mind on what i feel might be the trend. If i sound wrong please let me know else i continue put forward more trends to follow for businesses worth looking into. |

If transportation is to blame for the increase in food prices, then cooperative or group buying might lower costs. Why should 10 of us go to the local mart when 2 can go to the village market? Coupon sites might also thrive. |

Bicycle importation and selling when are we going to stop this importation mindset. not a mech. eng. by qualification, but how difficult is it to design a bicycle for crying out loud, it def. cant be rocket science i presume. come on steal the design and make the damn thing in your village and provide employment for your people. |

ode remo: Exactly, and that is the thing that really gets to me. Why must other people always bring you crap when you can make the crap yourself and distribute it to your people? This is the big difference between an African mindset and an Asian and or Western mindset; Africans like to find ways to skate around a problem, while most Asian and western people seek to eliminate it and profit from it, and this is how they've become so successful in history. |

ode remo:Na today nyash dey for back? Bros, It is not only bicycle. Even toothpick and toilet paper are imported in this country. The importation is not going to stop overnight. The typical nigerian mindset is quick money/profit. Why should he invest into a factory/industry and suffer losses when he can buy and sell at a good margin. There are millions of folks that make a livelihood on buying from US, UK Europe, Asia Dubai, importing (hand-carried or cargo) and re-selling/retailing. |
