Put a ring of steel around every capital city in the north and every other problematic town in the North and before long Boko Haram would be history.

I can’t believe in this day and age Boko Haram operatives are still allowed to roam about in the North like Cattle-Fulani’s and nobody seems to be bothered or perturbed by it, commonsense would have pre-empt that the Security Operatives would have taken some clearly workable and defined strategy by condoning off and set up SECURITY barriers tasked with the dire duty of checking all in-coming and out-going vehicles in and out of every major city in the North. One would have thought that scenario by now should be part of the topography in the North if we are really serious about fighting and stopping Boko Haram in its track.

The men mounting the security condone would be operating from orders from above, which means all vehicles including convoys of State Governors, Emirs and ex military men and women would be subject to a thorough search, that is the only way we can defeat this cancer that is tearing our country apart.

Since we don’t know our enemy and we equally don’t know who the sponsors are, all persons must be subject to this gruelling search irrespective of status or clout in the society. The Security barriers would be separated by a 300 or 400 metres gaps in between them. The subsequent checkpoints would administer the same thorough checks as encountered earlier, thereby countering any compromise or lapses in the procedure. Also security operatives would be moved around a lot so as to deter any planned subversion.

Jonathan said it in Kano, Boko Haram are not spirits, yes they are not spirits and since  they are human they can be detected and defeated and rightly so,  as long as a water tight and formidable security procedure is put in place.

We should stop this silly cat and mouse game we are playing with Boko Haram and tackle this problem with military precision. At times I wonder where all the thinking people in Nigeria has disappeared to, or is it true that the beautiful ones are not yet born.    undecided

The extremists are said to be speaking accented Hausa language, Kanuri and Chad languages," the state police command said in its first account of the carnage.

If there was a ring of steel around kano, the security people would have picked them up like one shooting cold turkey.

Mr new IGP, the ideas suffice in this piece would be one step not too far if you can put in place a containment measure especially with the bands of desirables going from town to town causing mayhem.

We heard Boko Haram struck in Zamfara state just two days ago probably on your first day in the office, Zamfara is some 300 km from Kano City, let’s assume they are running away from the clampdown in Kano City, how come these marauders were allowed to travel with their stock in trade and nobody saw them or could curtail their mass banditry movement, something is clearly not right here with our Security System.
