Footlocker: You xxxx! Your clearly jobless! Try and read threads properly before making stupid comments! Clearly your frustrated ^^^ SMH You reacted like a kid. It amazes me why people like you who claim to be sane use vulgar words to drive home your point. You can do better than this. If I were you (God forbid), I would focus more on polishing my English. It's high time you grew up and stop boasting on ephemeral things. Grow up, bro. 6 Likes |

Do something constructive with your time rather than commenting on what doesn't concern you! Thanks be to Heavens, he replied in better English. I have made someone improve tonight. Yes, I get paid for my impeccable competence. Ki lomode mo? Really, bro, don't boast on stuffs like that again. It doesn't speak well of you. It makes it look as if that achievement is all you live for. That is the point and I don't want to believe that that is your greatest achievement in life. ***Sorry if you have been offended but know this: not everybody on NL is a loser. 5 Likes |

apolonius:dude...i have an offer from mdx and my most important concern is accommodation and can u pls give me ur candid opinion about the school and the social life |
Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by apolonius(m): 5:58pm On Jul 05, 2014 |
tobtap: MDX is a good school,it is promising and progressive. The social life is a rich one;especially if you can start out in the university halls of residence and also key into the many social opportunities and events that the school organize. If you have the money, stay in the halls. If you don't have the funds, then go for a single room in a shared house. Those are easy to have in Hendon. If you can,do reach out to anyone who is studying there to help you get that. Otherwise, ask the international office for private accommodation contact and links. |

tobtap: Well, schools within London are also highly ranked. UCL,King's College,Imperial College,Queen Mary,SOAS among others are all in London and the foremost schools within the UK too. The Midlands has great schools actually. Check University of Leicester,University of Loughborough;then check University of Lancaster and the University of Manchester too. If the ranking facts with all its politics appeal to you in the choice you want to make, then Google Guardian university ranking tables for 2014 alongside Times Higher education universities ranking 2014 then Complete University guide. Once you access the 2014 editions, check for the subject tables to see the leading schools in your course areas. I can do these for you it is just that you need to learn such a useful research skill with the fore-going guidance. 1 Like |

All these ranking B/S, do they still work? I think the product is more important than the producer nowadays. Unfortunately, some unis are no longer living up to their names, just collecting ludicrous monies from students and making names, yet they keep rising up the top ranking lists. I would be more concerned about a uni that gives me added qualifications than the mere bsc, msc etc. I would be more into a uni that gives me graduate / chartered membership to a professional body in my field than chase after ivy league unis or Russell group unis. After all, some graduates from these unis are still looking for jobs till date, both here and at home. Smh. 2 Likes |

ShegsA: Please I need info on the University of Portsmouth. How's the school? Anyone attended it? If yes, how was your experience? What are the tips (living cost and all) that a Naija student needs to know about Portsmouth? I have lived in Portsmouth and done a short course in that university. Portsmouth uni is a good school, going up in ranking now and has good facilities. It has free bus ride for all students, so living far from uni is not a problem because uni bus runs from 7am till 10pm or later. Cost of living is a bit on the high side but still affordable, rents are not too expensive if you rent outside commercial road( the town center and uni areas). There are a healthy amount of Nigerian students there and student fellowship center where you will find quite a number of Nigerians. Portsmouth is just about an hr to 2hrs away from London with good road networks. 1 Like |
