Casemiro and Fabinho would be too defensive. They are basically the same player only that Casemiro is captain.

Fred is the better player to complement either of them. As he is more box to box while those 2 are pure sitting CDMs. They play 4-3-3 not 4-2-3-1

They play with 3 midfielders in a 4 3 3, Casmeiro is the DM, Fred the box to box and Paqueta as the more advanced. He’s been pretty good for Brazil, rarely losses the ball and has been tidy with his passes.

His pairing with Casmeiro who’s a sitting DM is working out fine.

A Pogba swap with Madrid for Casmeiro?
