Awards are always given based on sentiments on those that want to choose the winner. Messi deserved the award for his individual performance same as Lewandoski. Kanye and Jorginho were in the run for the winner based on chelshit success last season which would have still make them worthy winner if they have been able to hook the sentiment of the voters or those that will choose.

Secondly, he should be destroying French league because it is somewhat a weal league. But now, for the first time in his life, he has to work for himself, and not 10 team mates working for him.
