Leyqute:

Very fantastic elamps. We've got pacy players, they just need to make the right decisions, time and weigh their passes well. Miki could've given Martial an assist instead. The pass was a bit heavy

The counter was successful because of the people who were involved. These guys are not always on field together. Rooney understood how they did it from those days, he touched it perfectly for Mkhitaryan and immediately turned running to the opposition goal taking some players away. The rest was done by pacing players with blend of good decision making - Mkhitaryan and Martial.

Remove Mkhitaryan and Martial. Put Lingard and Rashford. That counter would not have be completed even though they have pace, their poor decision would have ruined it at the end. Or put Ibrahimovic, Mata, Fellaini in the counter. They would have reversed instead of of running forward. Pogba could have over held the ball.

The last time we had counters was when Rooney and Di Maria combined against Arsenal and one other team that season.

"The only player I'm aware of, who could possibly leave, I'm waiting just for 31 January to know really what is going on, but the only player I'm waiting for a decision on is Ashley Young.

"I would love to keep him. I'm not happy if he leaves but he's the only player I was informed that there would be a possibility of him leaving. That's why I didn't play him and I gave chances to other people.

"I don't know if he's going to stay with us. If I could choose, definitely yes, he would stay with us."

Luke is normal - he was injured and he's been training to be back in the team so it's a normal opportunity for him".

"Basti may be a surprise for some as we made that decision not to have him in the squad for a couple of months. Since the moment he's been back with the team, he's fighting also for his chances with so many matches as we have now. We've the postponed match [at Manchester City] because of the EFL Cup final, the Europa League and the fact that Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay left the club.

"The squad is shorter and we need him. Today is an opportunity for him to play and show that he is ready - even for the Premier League.

"He [Schweinsteiger] is staying and he is going on the Europa League list because we opened spaces with Depay and Schneiderlin leaving. We don’t have many players; in midfield we don’t have many options, so obviously he is an option.

"Ninety minutes today was probably too hard for him but it was important for him to have an impact with his volley and now I think he’s happy. If he was a good professional when he was not playing, now he’s having some minutes and opportunities he’s going to be the same good professional. With so many matches and competitions, he’s going to be an option."

"We deserved to win. The first half was not very good but we managed to be 1-0 in front. The goal gave us a different second half, it gave us a chance at half-time to speak with the players and make them feel the first half was not good enough.

"We spoke about changing a few things in the dynamic of the team. The guys obviously accepted it well because the second half was much better."

- Jose Mourinho
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:04pm On Jan 29, 2017
"We knew Warren [Joyce] would organise the team very well defensively, with aggression, but we knew that to break that wall we needed to played better than we did in the first half.

"We were quite lucky to be 1-0 up and then in the second half, with more space, we killed the game. We put a different pace into the game, there was much more intense defending, passing and movement. We deserved to win, the job was done and we are in the last 16."

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:06pm On Jan 29, 2017
"For [Axel] Tuanzebe and Joel [Pereira], it was their first match and it’s always a nice moment for every a player, a moment that stays in their career. So it was nice for me to give them the opportunity it’s not my work.

"The work was made in the Academy, where the players have been since they were young kids; in Joel the work was also done in Portugal, where he played for six months with Belenenses. So it’s not my work at all – I’m just the guy that have them the opportunity."

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:07pm On Jan 29, 2017
"In a realistic way, I think the Premier League is almost an impossible mission but I don’t think about it – I just think of winning the next match and that is not an impossible mission; it’s just a difficult match we can win.

"That’s how we think in the Premier League. In the League Cup we have 50 per cent chance of winning, in the FA Cup we’re in the last 16 and in the Europa League we’re in the last 32, so there are lots of matches to play."

- Jose Mourinho
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:09pm On Jan 29, 2017
"We are going to have a very difficult season compared with other clubs. Liverpool are going to play 16 matches until the end of the season, Chelsea will play 16 matches plus some in the FA Cup, and we are in this crazy situation.

"I think Southampton will have 15 days without football before the [EFL Cup] final; in those 15 days we play two matches against Saint-Etienne and the next round of the FA Cup."

- Jose Mourinho
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Oasis007(m): 10:10pm On Jan 29, 2017
"Since he came into the team, we and Micki himself thought he was ready.

"He had a good impact immediately, then he had a break with the injury against Tottenham, and then he came back and played quite well, so we are happy with him."

"I think the performance of the team was good enough. The performance of the players individually was good enough too – obviously, some were better than others, but that’s football. Overall, I’m happy with what they did."

For someone whose beloved club spent £50 million on an impotent striker I don't think you are in any position to try to question anyone's financial outlay on players talk less of United's!

Kindly move to the back of the class!

Let's compare 50 to 80
How is £50m for the best CF in EPL and an European champ at his peak in the same bracket with a £89m fee for dabbing CM

Next time you want to call Torres impotent be sure that Vidic isn't around cause he might give you a dirty slap

A dabbing cm only? Why are you leaving out "4 time serie a title winner, consistent member of the uefa, world player of the year, golden ball nominations list, reigning top serie a assist provider? Should I go on?

Or were you so astounded by the list of his achievements at 23 (not even yet at his peak by the way) that you forgot how to type and include them in your post? By the way Why is your own clubs other record signing midfielder (fab) always on the bench?

I'd love Rashford and Martial on the wings, Mhiki behind Ibra, and Pogba-Herrera behind them. Pogba and Mhiki are creative, but that would mean benching Carrick.
Only issue I have with this is that Pogba and Hererra have done nothing to prove that they could hold the middle together on their own against daring teams.

He is on the bench because he doesn't need to start games to have more assists than your 89m Kaffy wannabe

Even club legends that won everything there is to win for the club have noticed the improvement in the squad, their attitude and the teams style of play yet some plonkers like mr additional mathematics and his deluded crew would still by crying Jose out!

“I think when you see Martial, you see someone with unbelievable ability. He likes to play on that left hand side, even though today he’s playing in a more central position.

“The problem for me is two things. His consistency, sometimes he’s fantastic, the next time he’s really poor. And I’d like to actually see him smile, he’s playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world."

When it is some others, the excuse is that they are young and have won 4 leagues and been nominated for world best and they are for the future. But when it comes to others like Martial, forgetting that they are younger with no support from the full backs, they come hard on them. You guys should just continue o but remember daris godu o cheesy

Even Ronaldo is happier playing with Marcelo than any other full back

You ain't getting it Eph! No one is saying JM was right for criticizing his Inconsistency, rather for his own good, he needs to let-go of whatever holding him down and up his Game!

This is simply for his own good! He's very talented, hence he needs to be consistent to probably reach the level of Ronaldo and Messi in the Future!

Eph12 I don't know why glo and nairaland are both _fucking up this days because some times I can't enter a thread or even quote a reply to a mention! Anyway in relation to your question look at a few consistent dudes in the team:

1: Zlatan

2: Valencia

3: mikityrian

4: bailly

5: de gea

6: herrera

7: carrick

8: rojo

Are you okay now?
