To break it down for people, the Glazers bought Man United with a loan which they now put on the shoulders of the club to pay back.
In essence they used Man Utd money to buy Man Utd.
To add to that the club regularly pays them money for “consultancy services”.

Yeah, don't mind me, tried to break it down, but 'language of finance' kee me there. cheesy

Thanks.

Haha, for where?

Meanwhile, Woodward will still be around for some time sha. For those clamouring for him to leave. Issue is, he led the team that assisted the Glazers with the takeover in 2005. Also helped restructure the huge debt in 2010.

These guys have turned the club to something else, and have made/are still making a lot of money. Even the three Hedge Fund firms that gave them the loan in 2005 made a lot of money from the restructuring in 2010.

I admire those guys, but then they shouldn't have done this shyte to Man Utd. So not good. They are opportunists and sharks that really don't care about how the engine is faring, they just want it to continue to roll. When they have finished everything, they will discard (by getting the same JP Morgan or another top bank to help sell at a very high price) and move on. The question is 'when are they going to?' Quite unfortunate!

Nb: Anyone interested in high finance should pick up the book titled 'Barbarians at the gate, the fall of RJR Nabisco', it has details of how these guys operate and deal with big companies. I am sure some journalists are monitoring events post 'the Glazers takeover of Man Utd', as soon as they leave, I will be more than happy to know the details of every step they took.

It is very clear now you value Man U more than your country. It is shameful to say the least.

An interesting point brought up by a fan on MEN (MU2OT), something I never considered!

United can’t spend big until 1st July due to FFP.

FFP look at spend in the financial year starting 1st July.

United have spent £660m in the last 5 years but have sold few players so net spend is £440M. In contrast Real Madrid have a net spend of £26m in the same period....that’s why they can spend big now...they sold Ronaldo last year for £100m so they want to buy in this accounting period not the next one.

When you buy a player it is accounted over the contract so a £100m player will cost £20m a year over a 5 year contract. If you sell the money is accounted in one lump sum so in this case £100m would show up in the accounts not £20m.

United need to sell players in order to buy.

Whilst negotiations can start before July 1st I would be surprised if money is exchanged before 1st July.....we have bought James but that was only £15m.

Watch the transfer market accelerate after 1st July

Na true sha. It's the same thing Madrid did. But we bought before July 1st so we can have enough funds to buy one more star player grin

Everton of Gremio looks a potential good buy.
Advantage

Aggressive play pattern like Tevez and Arturo Vidal.
Can wiggle out of tight positions.
Good with the ball on both feet.

Disadvantage

Untested in the Premier league.

Wan-Bissaka 'could have United medical next week'
Aaron Wan-Bissaka could have his medical at United next week, according to reports.
Football Insider suggest there has been a ‘breakthrough in talks’ which could see the two clubs settle on a deal next week.

I really like Ndidi but I can't help notice he isnt enterprising enough when on the ball. Without the ball he's positionally excellent. Great at interception and covering space. Good tackler too but even Matic does more with the ball. I feel we need someone with a good balance of both.

We need someone to shield the defense. The CM and AM can handle the offensive aspect without worrying too much about defensive burden.

It would also be very hard to refuse if Inter is offering iCardi+ cash for Lukaku. Even though icardi has his own problems and I don't want Lukaku to leave.

I want this deal to happen regardless of Icardi's off field issues. Maybe he'll put his head down when he comes here and realizes how big a club is United.
