What I've observed about Ole's midfield is that Ole likes using 3 players with different roles in the midfield.

The first player is the DM. He stays close to the defence and helps to shield any attacks. He also controls the speed of the game by passing either slow or fast and must not lose the ball under any circumstance.

The second player is the CM. He is typically a ball winner that wins the ball back when we lose it and keeps the game flowing.

The third player is the AM. He is the one that should be on the ball when we're running a counter since he can pick the best option at the moment. He also links the midfield and attack.

Last season our structure was like this:

DM: Matic
CM: Herrera
AM: Pogba

This season it's:

DM: ?
CM: Pogba
CM: McT
AM: Lingard or Pereira

The problem is, the only decent AMs we have are Mata, Pogba and Gomes. Ole can't use Mata often cos he's old and slow and he probably feels Gomes is too young and small (which I think is untrue anyway as Gomes is 18, stronger and faster than Mata)

Without the AM and DM functioning properly, we are useless. Pogba playing deeper will only help us in the negative because he loses the ball far too often.

As at when we got LVG, LVG was better and had better CV than Klopp. Klopp was still an up coming manager with Dortmund, so it's normal for them not to take a gamble on him. No one knew he was going to turn out good. we actually went for a more established and coach with more acheivement in LVG, but things didn't work out.
The only regret I'm having is us not going for Pep when he was available. infact pep himself wanted Man utd but , Ed was an idiot then.

Mou was criticized for his style of play majorly. Even when we were winning Lana and adisa were constantly criticizing him and don’t believe he’s the kind of manager we need.

Now the players he signed:

Zlatan - scored 27 goals in all competition and help us win the Europa, Carling and Community shield.

Bailly - Was immense in his first season before injury started.

Lindelof - Be the judge yourself.

Pogba - Our most creative player. Blows on n off.

Lukaku - Lukaku scored 27 goals in his first season, being our highest goal scorer for that season. We finished 2nd that season. Scored 15 goals last season, still our highest goal scorer.

Matic - Immense the season we bought him, last season he became a liability due to loss of pace.

Fred - Dont know where to place this one, I still believe he will come good.

Dalot - Same as Fred.

It was said that he was requesting for new players when the ones he brought in has done nothing really worthy of note. Ibra lost a lot of chances that season, we ended up 6th in the league. Matic has never been a player you can count on through out a season. He was never for us. Pogba has always frustrated every united fan. Dalot we don't know his position. But it wasn't complete overhaul for them. They try to bring in a few players every transfer window.

We should stop screaming 'complete overhaul'. It doesn't make sense because it will take sometime for them to gel, and as soon as you start seeing some progress, the best of them will try to leave. And business-wise, you will spend close to 500m to overhaul. You think money grows on trees?

The board and Woodward have been doing their best, we have bought players that managers have asked for. When the ask becomes unreasonable, what do you want them to do?

We just need to to check the style of any manager we wanna go for, ensure it's someone that will gradually work towards winning trophies, play good football, and bring out the quality in the players.
