This is most people's grudge with OGS - offloading players without securing adequate replacements...TBVH, prior to his departure, lukaku was poor for us...ditto other players that were asked to leave.


Having said that, we cant be worse with Lukaku, Sanchez, herrera, Smalling etc in the Mix as we speak.

If we knew we were not gonna be replacing those lads, I think we should have held on to them.

Of course, not every fans will like a particular player. If Ole n the clueless board had replaced Lukaku and fixed the midfield, we won’t be having this discussion right now.

Just as eph pointed out, Lukaku was scapegoat by most of the fan base because of the inability of the midfield players. He has his flaws quite alright but he wasn’t the reason why we weren’t scoring bucket load of goals.

Like I said at the beginning of the season, with those stupid transfer decisions Ole made, we are actually worse off this season than we were last season. Getting rid of Lukaku wasn’t the problem itself, not replacing him the midfield is the problem.

The only thing I don’t agree about is some people here trying to use last season alone to judge Lukaku while convinently avoiding the fact that he was our top forward scorer that same season despite playing less mins.
