This is very good though, pushes the teammates to do better. Exactly why I love how Bruno reacted to Lindelof’s slip in the UEL semis. It eliminates that lackadaisical attitude a number of them put up when they goof.

If you’ve got a team like this, and a manager that won’t hesitate to drop underperforming players, with a real competition for places.. guaranteed quality performance at least 80% of the time.

Any player that can’t handle it should hand in a transfer request, and move to a team that’s satisfied with a less than 6/10 performance 40% of the time. Hope they also enjoy the numerous Ls that come along with it.

The thing really pained Bruno, he couldn’t hide it at all.

Some days or weeks before the match, he had granted multiple interviews where he mentioned how much he wanted to win a trophy last season. Seeing Lindelof & AWB slip like that was literally seeing the trophy slip away too

Gradually, there’ll be more like him. They just need some time to become respected senior team players, guys like Greenwood, Williams, VDB & McTominay.

Lloris was able to pull that off because of his position in the team. Would have been different if it was some youngster like Gedson Fernandes.

Yes. Same thing happened when Rashford was promoted to the senior team and McTominay had to be striker for under-23.
