babakess: Any suggestion on the rate I can bid with 500k for 91 days? However, what does 10% interest for 91days represent? Does it mean 50,000 for the whole 3 months? |

Naijainvestor:pls I want to invest in FG bond for 16th sept 2015, for the 5yrs(4.5yrs) duration but what I want to understand in a lay-man's knowledge is; if i subscribe for that of N500,000 how much (the amount) 'll be my interest if the percentage is like 15.54% for instance. when'll i be paid, i hear things like semi annually? Pls gurus in the house help thanks. cc: naijainvestor , feelamong 2 Likes |

babakess: Please are you sure about this because the guy I met at Gtbank today said it hold s every 2 weeks and the last one ended today. He doesn't seem too learned though. Where I knew he wasn't learned is where he said you can't liquidate before your duration matures in the secondary market, as opposed to what I have read and seen in this the treasury bill thread. |

adrianstylez:he is right ....auction is every 2 weeks ...wednesdays.....tomorrow......but application ended today....so you have to wait for the next one ........after the auction morrow ...entries are passed on thurs |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by babakess: 10:50pm On Sep 01, 2015 |
Ephemmm: i go with the banks bid rate most times to avoid missing out ..........and secondly the rate for 91days tenor should be around 10%.....its been around that......10% of 500k is 50,000 per annum....so 91 days is 1/4th the annual figure that is 50,000/4= 12,500naira. My Advice is if you dont have need for the money its better to buy 364days and enjoy a higher rate like 13 to 14% per annum........that 3 to 4% will cost you over a long period of you look at it critically. |

freeman67:would a TB certificate be issued to me if i invest in TB with 100k/200k? Can i choose to invest both the interest and principal on my first day of bidding? If it is possible for me, will i be credited with the interest and principal before it is reinvested? |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by babakess: 2:51pm On Sep 02, 2015 |
motherlode: you can reinvest the interest next auction day which is 2 weeks frm that day........and provided it meets the minimum required amount for bidding ........there by increasing your annual return yr/yr..........Example........Lets say i purchase N2,000,000 at 14% at today's auction ...my return or interest is 280,000 for the 364days....over the same period i can increase my interest for the year by using the 280k to repurchase the bills two weeks later.....assuming interest fell after two weeks to 13.5% per 364days.....280k *0.135=N37800......to adjust for the two weeks ....................it becomes 37800*(350/364)=36346. add that to your original 280k interest then you have N316,346,Meaning your ROI for the year is 15.82%......1 to 2% interest increase in ur annual return can increase your wealth by millions after a long time. 2 Likes 1 Share |

THIS IMAGE SHOWS YOUR WEALTH COMPOUNDING AT 10%....FOR 20 YEARS I.E (1+0.1)^20 X PRINCIPAL=6.73 X PRINCIPAL after 20years .....(1) now.....15.82% compounding over the same period ..... (1+0.1582)^20 x PRINCIPAL =18.87 X PRINCIPAL...............(2) THAT MEANS INCREASING THE INTEREST RATE BY HALF(1.5)......tripled the multiplication factor of our wealth.........each percetage count over the long run AND TBILLS IS safe....Thats Explosion folks .........no putting into consideration your contribution for the year in form of savings WHATS YOUR PRINCIPAL TODAY start now and be free in 10years minimum
