You asked for it when you entered the realm of politics in this hallowed chamber of investment.
You obviously have never heard any position of leadership, where you have to balance expectations with realities. Many things are wrong with this country, one of which is the people, on an investment thread like this, there are many people who voted for A or B, yet you sit down are called yourself a "fool" because they do not align with your political affiliation?

grin grin

I recognise your handle
And I'm not surprised by the comments you are making
To be very honest

I'm glad what I said struck a nerve
Even if you lie it did not
Your comment up here shows it, in black and white

I'll say this for the third time
Those who voted this incompetent leader twice, despite his failed antecedents and various other baggage the re.tard possesses, that person made a FOOLISH DECISION

because that decision put us in this quagmire we are in today

You have the right to vote what ever
That one is not in doubt

But when you vote a man like this
And you look yourself in the mirror Five years and three months into his presidency and still convince yourself that you did not make a wrong choice

Na wa

And if it makes you feel better

I have not "heard" any position of authority before
Because who in his right mind would like to "heard" position in the first place

u are missing the points....most rich people are from successful enterprise not fixed income and compounding.....they might be investing in fixed assets too

You compound in business, by ploughing back your earnings for the growth and expansion of the business especially is the return on equity is quite higher than inflation and what is optainable from fixed income

We have businesses that are currently stagnant, with a negative compounded annual growth rate. Returns of 15% on fixed income will be such businesses.

Transcorp hotel, Arik, Nahco, Sahcol, Guinness, International Brewery, Nigeria Brewery, University Press, Learn Africa, UACN, CAPL, these are examples of businesses that experienced negative growth last year, some this year and this might continue for the next two years.

Investors will be better shifting their investments from such businesses and consider where they can better returns

You struck a nerve quite all right, just that I was not expecting a foolish person on this thread.

Go to the politics sections, that is where the political battle ground is, don't come and hide inside investment section and be making assiduous political statements.

It is even a foolish decision for you to call others a fool for just performing their constitutional rights, if you had insulted the president perhaps you would have been within your rights to do that, but to insult investors or aspiring investors because they are not aligned with you.

Yea
I see what you are saying
I just wished the government can wake up and rejuvenate the economy using sensible policies

We cannot continue like this....

I would advise everyone to always hold a percentage of his net worth as forex to at least hedge to an extent against the inflationary and forex risks

People saying earn in naira and spend in naira
I get what you are trying to say
But there is no patriotism when it comes to money and your investments
Dangote went down that route
And we saw with our eyes how his networth was been wiped off seriously losing over half of it
If he decided to make that New York move that he is making now (which btw is already too late)
The fate that befell him
Wouldn't have been the case lipsrsealed

Keep political talks for the politics section. If everyone starts making noise here, it would end in chaos.

In the alternative, you can create a thread about how political decisions and indecisions have affected investments. That way, you can post freely and those with similar or contrary ideas can engage you freely and robustly.

That is why you are not seeing the over 2m users of this forum on this thread. They pick what they want and move on. Investments have levels. It is such levels that made some companies to have an opening amount for a stock broking account of N5m while some have as low as 10k. With that every level is catered for. Who wants to be on Forbes list can continue making money to no end while there are others that want to be on other lists. Is Forbes the only list in the world?.

That's also fine

Everyone has their goals in life
And we are all working assiduously towards it.
But the common goal here for everyone of us
Is for our unearned income to get to a level where it can cover most if not all our expenses.

That should be the base for every one here
Like the "worst comes to worst " level

It is a tall order everywhere. We have just 2900 billionaire in the world.

I have a saying " different strokes for different folks".

It is so because we are all wonderfully and differently made.
